3 THE COMPANY AWS Achslagerwerk Stassfurt GmbH Your Partner for Machining in Railway and Machine building Industry AWS Achslagerwerk Stassfurt GmbH is a medium-sized component manufacturer with more than 60 year s experience in providing services for the European railway vehicle and machine building industries. In addition to our core competence, the prismatic and axially symmetric CNC machining of castings, steel and aluminium materials, our versatile range of services includes both the manufacture of welded assemblies and customer-specific surface treatment, component assembly, picking and packaging. At our modern location in the middle of Saxony-Anhalt, between the commercial centres of Magdeburg and Halle/Leipzig and on the A 14 autobahn, we have a site with approx. 15,000 m² for production, assembly and logistics in addition to extensive and versatile fixed machinery. In contrast, in the vertical lathe and boring mill sectors we can also process individual items up to a weight of 50 t.

5 Source: VTG Aktiengesellschaft OUR OWN PRODUCTS Axle box housings for freight wagons AWS Achslagerwerk Stassfurt GmbH manufactures and markets as its own products type 182 and 189 (Y) axle box housings to DB standard as well as types 381 and 388 (UIC). Type BA 182 Type BA 381 TESTED PRIDE IN DE TAILS AND BOLDNESS FOR ACHIEVING GREATNESS The production of the housing bodies on a fully automated machining line, consisting of 19 interlinked processing stations, guarantees not only a constant outstanding quality but also an annual production capacity of up to 40,000 pieces.

7 Mechanical Processing FIXED MACHINERY For processing by turning, boring and milling we have a total of 40 CNC machines of various sizes and designs. Particularly worth mentioning are: Interlinked CNC processing systems for 4-axis heavy duty machining CNC high-speed processing centres for 5-axis aluminium processing Fully automated machining line for processing BA182 axle box housings CNC automatic lathes and milling machines MADE IN GERMANY WITH EXPERIENCE AND QUALIT Y CNC vertical lathes up to 3700 mm rotational diameter and 3000 mm work piece height CNC boring and milling machines with rotary milling tables and axis travelling distances up to X=13000 mm, Y=3500 mm and Z=1500 mm

8 CERTIFICATION Approved Quality As a certified multi-branch provider of services with a vast store of technical know-how we can guarantee compliance with the following standards: Certified supplier to the DB Deutsche Bahn IRIS International Railway Industry Standard, Revision 02 DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 Welding of rolling stock and rolling stock components as per DIN EN , certification level CL1 ISO/ TS rd edition ME TAL PROCESSING WITH CERTIFIED EXPERT KNOWLEDGE As a result of this we have today well-known system providers for rolling stock, notable freight wagon hirers, renowned axle, bogie and freight wagon manufacturers as well as the worldwide market leaders in manufacturing plain and roller bearings among our customers.

9 Quality Assurance and Measurements Services QUALITY ASSURANCE For safeguarding and documentation of the shape and position tolerances demanded by our customers our quality assurance department has three air-conditioned measuring rooms available with a total of four 3D-coordinate measuring machines. The largest possible measuring volume is 5000 x 3000 x 2000 mm. The checking of further quality requirements is done by Roughness measurement Hardness measurement Coating thickness measurement PRECISION IN EVERY MILLIME TER AND EVERY THING UNDER CONTROL Magnetic particle inspection

10 SERVICES Surface Treatment, Component Assembly, Packaging and Shipping As an extension of our mechanical processing we can also offer our customers a range of surface treatments, such as electroplated coatings and finishing with customer-specific painting systems. The subsequent preassembly of processed components to form complete hardware modules as well as their completion with items provided by the customer also form an important part of the range of services we offer.
