2 WELCOME FROM BJU s PRESIDENT Welcome to BJU! We re privileged to have you as our guest for the 43rd Annual High School Festival and Preaching Conference. As you participate in preaching, music, communication, art, photography and video production competitions, it is our hope that through competition you will be challenged and encouraged to use the gifts God has given you for His glory. Take advantage of the opportunity to visit university classes, and see firsthand how God is working in the hearts and minds of our students through our highly qualified faculty. As you visit, we hope you will consider BJU for your college education. BJU is a unique educational institution. Our faculty provides you with a world-class education that will prepare you well for whatever ministry or vocation the Lord calls you. Our graduates prove this every day as they serve the Lord in local churches, Christian schools, mission fields and many other professions around the world. Earlier this fall, Christian Universities Online ranked BJU as the fifth most affordable college/university in the country, while Educate to Career, which ranked 1,182 four-year colleges across the country, named BJU the 12th best value college in the country. Colleges are ranked for doing the best job of improving the earnings and attainment of quality employment by their students. It s no coincidence our graduates are sought after 80 percent of our premed students far above the national average of 49 percent were accepted into medical school; 79 percent of our accounting students had a job in their field or were accepted at a graduate school before they graduated this past year; senior engineering students average a 90 percent pass rate on the Fundamentals of Engineering exam; our nursing students regularly outperform national and state pass rates on the NCLEX; and in the last two years, 77 percent of chemistry seniors scored in the 70th percentile or higher on the ACS Diagnostic of Undergraduate Chemistry Knowledge. Enjoy your visit to BJU. Please let me or any member of our faculty or staff know if we may be of any assistance to you during your visit. We are here for you.
