1 Version English This HOWTO describes how you can virtualize the IAC-BOX on Hyper-V. Please note the reference table of the minimum hardware requirements.

3 Please note the following hits: A 64-Bit host-system is required It is strongly recommended to use a dedicated physical network interface card for the Surf-LAN The system must be online at any time in order to synchronize necessary IAC-BOX registration data with the licensing server This HOWTO describes the installation of the IAC-BOX on Hyper-V, not the Hyper-V installation itself Please note the minimum hardware requirements. 4 After the Hyper-V installation, klick on the Virtual Network Manager on the right menu. Enter the name Office-LAN for the first LAN connection and select an external (physical) network adapter. Click Apply to save the configuration.

5 Now enter the name Surf-LAN for the second LAN connection and select another external (physical) network adapter. Afterwards click OK to save the configuration and close the Virtual Network Manager.

6 After the configuration of the virtual network is done, right-click on the Hyper-V server and create a new virtual machine. A new dialogue opens where you can continue with Next. Enter a name for the new virtual machine (here IAC-BOX) and click Next to continue. Follow the pictures below for the next configuration steps.

7 Now select the amount of memory you want to allocate to this virtual machine. Therefore please note the minimum hardware requirements displayed on Page 2. Here you select the Office-LAN as connection and click Next to continue.

8 Enter a name for the virtual hard disk (here IAC-BOX) and the location where the hard disk should be created. Select the hard drive size according to the minimum hardware requirements displayed on Page 2. Now select the setup media for the installation of the virtual machine. Thereby you can eighter install from a physical CD/DVD which is in the host systems CD drive or you install from a ISO file.

9 Check the selected settings for the virtual machine and click Finish to create the machine. You can see the new virtual machine (here IAC-BOX) in the list on the left side now. Click on the virtual machine on the left side and then click on Settings on the right side.

10 Below Hardware, click on the already existing Network Adapter Office-LAN and remove it. Now click on Add Hardware, select Legacy Network Adapter and add it as new virtual hardware.

11 Now click on the newly added Legacy Network Adapter and select Office-LAN as network. As described above, add another Legacy Network Adapter as virtual hardware but now select Surf-LAN as network. Afterwards klick OK to save the hardware configuration and close the dialogue.

12 Back at the Hyper-V Manager click Connect at the virtuale Machine on the right side. A new windows opens. On the new window, click Action and then Start to start the new virtual machine.

13 If the configuration of the virtual machine has been done right, it will start to boot from the IAC-BOX ISO image or from the IAC-BOX CD/DVD. You will see the default installation process of IAC-BOX. Enter g and confirm by pressing Enter to go on with the installation.

14 Now you can go on with the default installation of IAC-BOX. Please note that in case the setup does get stuck while initializing, you can press ESC to continue.
