Coleman Endowed in second year status, or were admitted to the program with advanced standing. Undergraduate or graduate Graduate Recipient must provide a 500 word essay on their interest in the area of Social Work with Families, Children, and Youth. They must have a minimum GPA of 3.2. Preference to s from urban economically and/or academically disadvantaged backgrounds. Award is based on financial need and scholastic achievement. Recipient must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and demonstrate commitment to working with diverse populations Established by Rachel Inez Coleman, who earned her BSW and MSW while undergoing numerous radiation and chemotherapy treatment. She personally established this scholarship to exemplify her strong commitment to the field of social work and future social workers (especially women). Graduate writing a thesis Awards may be used for educational expenses related to conference travel and/or conference registration by doctoral s. The factors that are considered in evaluating the applicants include those required for approval of all theses; namely originality, adequacy, accuracy, significance, methodology, and justification of conclusions. DOWNLOAD APPLICATION FOR SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK PRIVATE SCHOLARSHIPS Completed applications must be received by the School of Social Work Office of Admissions and Student Services (SSW OASS) by 5 p.m. on February 27, The application is writable. Upon completing the form, SAVE IT and send the saved completed application back to us. It can be mailed or delivered directly to the Wayne State University School of Social Work, Office of Admissions and Student Services at 4756 Cass Avenue, Detroit, MI It can also be faxed at (313) or sent via as an attachment to [email protected]. Applicants no longer need to indicate which scholarship they are applying for with all applicants automatically being considered for those scholarships in which they meet eligibility. Please note the listed scholarships on the application that require essays. All applicants must complete a Free Application For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). This information will be verified through the Wayne State University Financial Aid Office. B.S.W. with missing or remaining Wayne State University general education requirements are not eligible to receive school- based scholarships or financial aid. Receipt of this award is contingent upon agreement that we may inform the donor of the scholarship of your name and selected general information regarding your qualifications for this award. You must submit a thank you letter to the donor to OASS and attend the annual scholarship reception. Failure to do so will result in the rescinding of the scholarship award.
