The Self-Directed Improvement System (SDIS ) Proficiency Target Mary Bethune Alternative Center will actively engage students by using Schelecty Design Qualities and WOW Framework. Execute Who? Does What? When? Baseline Assessments Exit Slips, Needs Assessment Surveys, observations, etc. Strategy Teachers will attend district workshops and professional development to enhance knowledge of Design Qualities. Mary Bethune will open its official PBIS Store on May 18. Merchandise that will be housed in the store was chosen by student needs assessments. Mary Bethune Alternative Center has started PBIS Fun Friday for students who have exhibited good character and academics for the week. Data 339 student exit slips (April) 89% of students were able to articulate design quality used in lesson. (301) 95% of students reported that the lesson was engaging. (322) 65% of students reported receiving PBIS reward. (220) Feedback Analyze the data: Teachers were strongest in the area of student engagement. Teachers went through training on Design Qualities. Teachers were required to place design qualities in lesson plans. Teachers showed deficiencies in the area of PBIS rewards. Teachers must begin to reward students for positive behaviors on a consistent basis.
