Climate Reference Network: NOAA / National Climatic Data Center program to provide long-term homogeneous observation of temperature and precipitation for climatic change detection. Coprincipal investigator for a 6-month project to determine network density and a multiyear project to investigate and select long-term monitoring sites (Awards: $260k FY03, $160k FY02, $98k FY01).

3 Integrating Climate Science and Water Management in North and South Carolina: Co-principal investigator on a 3-year NOAA Office of Global Programs Regional Integrated Sciences and Assessments Team (Award to USC). Climate and Weather Impacts on Society and the Environment: Co-principal investigator on a 4-year cooperative agreement with NOAA National Climatic Data Center and NOAA Coastal Services Center to address aspects of regional-scale impacts of weather, climatic change, and climatic variability in coastal North and South Carolina (Award to NCSU, USC, and Clemson). Southeast Agriculture Data Acquisition: World Agricultural Outlook Board project to improve the flow of weather information and USDA/NRCS cooperative agreement to provide maintenance and technical support in the southeastern United States for the Soil Climate Analysis Network automated weather stations (Awards: $15k FY03, $30k FY00).
