2 Course Facilitator: Dr Michael Robbins Michael has a great deal of industry experience, demonstrated through working closely with the Scottish Power Company on a project to reduce human capital risk in generation and recovery. He has also dealt extensively with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, to optimise process security. Michael is currently Managing Director for IMOR International based in Europe and South Africa. He has worked as a Senior Consultant for a number of European and South African business consulting organisations. Until joining IMOR International, Michael was head of corporate risk globally for a leading South African risk management company. He is a graduate of Manchester University, has over 30 years experience across all corporate disciplines as well as the power sector, and has held the posts of Director and General Manager (MD) and CEO of two major UK companies, one private and one quoted company. Michael was awarded his doctorate in International Business Administration in July As a consultant specialising in implementing organisational risk controls through management standards and systems including strategic and operational risk management combined with cultural change, he has developed a unique understanding of the practical issues facing all those responsible for the development and administration of business controls in a power operation. He has worked in this field for 15 years. Michael has lectured for the British Standards Institute worldwide on Integrated Management Systems, Management Standards, Corporate Governance, Business Continuity Management, Risk Identification, and Control via ISO Standards. He is also a visiting lecturer on controlling risk via integrated management standards and systems and for Hong Kong Poly University. He is the co-author of PD.6668: 2000, Managing Risk for Corporate Governance - A pre Standard BSI publication. This publication has received acknowledgement as a leading publication in its field, the publication has been translated by the Japanese Management Association as one of its principle guidance documents on the subject of risk in corporate governance.
