5 RESEARCH EXPERIENCE Washington State Institute for Criminal Justice (WSICJ) Senior Research Associate, Division of Corrections and Sentencing October, 2013 Present - Created database on evidence-based practices for over 1,400 offender programs across Washington Department of Corrections - Aided in the construction of offender risk-assessment instruments - Data analysis - Publication and technical report writing King County (Washington) Department of Adult and Juvenile Detention Research Consultant January, 2012 October, Designed and conducted time-series analysis to predicting juvenile bed space needs for 63 Month for King County juvenile detention - Final report is available upon request. Ohio Justice Policy Center Research Consultant January, 2010 May, Study of Indigent Defense Client Satisfaction: Pilot Study of Hamilton County Public Defenders - Constructed survey and focus group instruments, implemented assessment tools, collected data, and coded/transcribed/analyzed an evaluation of the Hamilton County Public Defender s Office in Cincinnati, Ohio - Final report available upon request Vera Institute of Justice Research Assistant September, 2008 February, Provided research for the reform of Washington DC s status offender program which is currently regarded as the Persons In Need of Supervision (PINS) system - Provided research, feedback and aid to the facilitation of an Oversight Education Project where Vera was looking to educate two states and two counties across the nation about the establishment of alternatives of prison oversight - Participated as a writer for the congressional report which accompanied the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) reform processes and the Commission on Safety and Abuse in America s Prisons (CSAAP)
