Working with the Spokane County Drug Court to better understand predictors of success and failure among drug court participants and developing an assessment tool. 3

4 Research Assistant, Simulated Hazardous Operational Tasks Lab, Sleep & Performance Research Center,, Spokane, WA Directed individual study-runs for research study on police officer shift and sleep schedules and their impact on decision-making. Administered pre-tests and post-tests of training for military officers on cultural competency and use of force decision-making. Supervised research assistants during study-runs and training. Research Assistant, Division of Governmental Studies and Services, Washington State University, Pullman, WA Developed a research design to assess client satisfaction with public defenders for the Ohio State Public Defenders and applied for a $170,000 grant from the Law School Admission Council. Not granted. Assisted with the development of a research design for an evaluation of a new problembased learning curriculum implemented in the police academies in Washington State. Created new exit surveys and interviews for all police recruits to complete upon graduation from the police academy in Washington State. Research Assistant, St. Louis County Public Defender s Office, St. Louis, MO Interviewed clients to determine their eligibility for legal services and inquired about background information and criminal history. Assisted attorneys with criminal cases, including pretrial release decisions, motions, trial preparation, and probation revocation hearings. Worked with judges, prosecutors, and probation officers on behalf of clients.
