1 FIRE AND LIFE SAFETY Building Systems Hayden Ferry Lakeside is state of the art and designed to offer maximum protection to its building occupants. The building is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. Modern high tech fire and life safety systems supplement existing security systems. These systems include: A fire alarm panel which responds to the public area and floor alarm conditions including smoke and water flow detectors and manual alarm pull stations A comprehensive sprinkler system Stairwells are pressurized to prevent smoke from entering the stairwell Multiple fire extinguishers located on each floor Fire evacuation maps are located in each elevator lobby Building intercom system on each floor and in the stairwells Fire/Life Safety Program Primary responsibility for the safety of the building occupants and compliance with the fire code rests with each building tenant. Emergency exit routes are posted in the elevator lobby of each floor. Please use stairwells NOT elevators in an emergency. It is important that all tenants and their guests in the building take responsibility by learning safety procedures, including evacuation routes.

2 Floor Wardens Each tenant is required to appoint a Tenant Floor Warden who will be responsible for coordinating the evacuation of the suite's occupants. Full floor tenants must appoint a Floor Warden and additional Floor Wardens. Parkway recommends one additional Floor Warden for every 100 employees on the floor. The building's emergency procedures are administered with these individuals under the direction of the property manager. A formal Floor Warden Training Program will be conducted annually. Fire Drills Annual fire drills will be conducted at Hayden Ferry Lakeside. Participation by all tenants is mandatory. Reporting Emergencies Life threatening emergencies should first be reported to 911. Remember to provide the address, suite number, and floor location when talking to the 911 operator. After notifying 911, please contact the property management office (or Security if after hours). Security will meet and escort paramedics.

3 Power Failure Hayden Ferry Lakeside has emergency generators which will provide emergency power for certain basic building functions in the event of power failure. The functions include: Activating emergency lights on each floor throughout the building including all Exit signs Activating all stairwell lighting Activating the building's emergency fire, life and safety systems as well as the building's communication systems Bring all elevators to the ground floor lobby one at a time. It is seldom necessary to evacuate the building during a power failure. Unless you are directed to do so through the emergency communication system, or by your Floor Warden, please remain in your suite. Please do not call the property management office unless you need to notify us of the location of an employee needing assistance. Severe Weather When severe weather conditions become apparent, the U.S. Weather Bureau describes conditions by two (2) classifications, a WATCH or a WARNING. This applies to the reporting of severe thunderstorms, the approach of weather conditions favoring the formation of tornadoes, a hurricane condition, a winter storm condition, etc. A WATCH becomes effective when atmospheric conditions are right to produce the particular weather phenomenon. A WARNING means that the weather condition has been spotted and prompt action must be taken for safety.

4 Severe Weather (cont.) Except in very rare circumstances, the decision to evacuate the building based on the above weather reports will not be made by the property management office, but rather by each tenant. However, in the event these conditions do exist, the following guidelines should be kept in mind: Do not panic Move away from outside windows. Close the blinds (this will provide protection from broken glass) If evacuated, take all items of value with you If evacuated, exit through the interior hallways (avoiding glass windows) Use the stairwells rather than the elevators If evacuated, do not return to your office until advised to do so Bomb Threat Bomb threats should be taken very seriously. Do not assume that they are made only to building personnel. Anyone can receive a bomb threat and everyone should be prepared. Should a bomb threat occur, use the following procedure: Notify the Police Department. Dial 911. Give them the following information: o Building name, address and nearest cross street, floor/suite number, nature of the emergency, victim's name and location, and your call back telephone number. Note: Do not hang up until the emergency operator does so. Notify Security at and Management Building management will advise each Tenant of the situation. It is the Tenant's decision to evacuate their employees unless otherwise directed by local authorities.

5 Civil Disturbance Should a riot or civil disturbance start outside the building, building security will immediately lock all entrances to the building. The police will be notified and the property management office will keep tenants informed. Elevator Malfunction In the event that an elevator stops with passengers in it, remember to remain calm. Press the CALL button within the cab. This will ring the elevator monitoring company and an operator will talk with you until help arrives; the elevator cab number is located on the panel. The ALARM button in the elevator when pressed will sound an alarm to alert someone that the elevator is malfunctioning. In the event of a power outage, elevators will continue to operate using the emergency power generator. Should an outage occur, elevator lights will remain on, and the car will temporarily stop. Each elevator will automatically return to the 1 st floor (one at a time) where the doors will open and then be out of service. In the event of fire, do not use elevators, use the stairwells.

If the building alarm sounds, unless you have something to report, please do not call the property management office, exit the building. Everyone will be notified when it is safe to reenter the building.
