Project Title Solar Energised Power Plant Project Description In recent years energy crisis has become one of the most talked about issues around the world. Especially in the developing countries, the scarcity of electricity has hindered many development projects. A solar energised power plant can contribute a lot to meet the need of electricity. The main intension of this project is to lessening the cost of fuel & also getting large amount of electricity. A big problem in different power plants is the negetive effect they have on the environment which is largely because of combussion of fuel. This power plant will help to keep the environment in proper order also. Target Student Audience The main audience of our project is the undergraduate first year students who can learn a lot about solar power plant & renewable energy. Benefit To society Our project has numerous social benefits.these are :- 1. Source of sustainable energy Solar plant can be a great source of sustainbale energy. As sunlight is almost always available in the day time, a large amount of consistent electricity can be produced within a large area. 2.Lessening of Energy cost In this power plant, sunlight is being used as the source of energy. As

there is enough supply of sunlight during day time, there should not be any scarcity of heat. Excess amount of heat can be used by storing it in heat capacitor when there is no daylight. 3.Availability of Working Fuel Water is very much available in nature which is the working fluid in our plant. It is also cost free and easy to access. In the production process water is transformed into steam and later steam is again returned into its original phase. So water is used again and again in cyclic order. 4.Environmental issues Environmental pollution is reduced to a large extent in solar power plant as there is no fuel combussion associated to the plant. Moreover it is free from toxic pollutant. Also the emitted heat from condenser tower is stored in heat capacitor so it affects very little to the environment. 5.Conclusion to energy crisis Our project is proposing the solution to the scarcity of electricity which is the main obstacle to the development. Our aim is not only to produce electricity but also to limiting the cost of production so that the the general people using it can be benefitted. Student Learning Intent By completing the project students should learn about- (a) how solar energy can be used in the power plant (b) how mirrors & lenses can be used to concentrate the heat (c) how steams can be used to run steam turbine (d) how steam turbine can produce electricity (e) also how the cooling system in the power plant works

Collecting Solar Energy Absorption of solar energy by the lens and mirrors depends on the rotation of the earth, angle of incidence, altitude, air mass. The amount of heat energy is proportional to the surface of the solar collectors. Collectors will capture the heat and concentrate it on a suitable heat absorber on the focus. Heat Water To Produce Steam To produce steam from water we have to supply required amount of heat energy to increase the temperature above 100 degree Celsius. The more the heat the more will be the kinetic energy of the steam. The boiler is surrounded by a glass shade. Interior to the glass there are some greenhouse gases like carbon-di-oxide, water vapour etc. to isolate heat and provide heat equally in all sides of the boiler. The boiler will be made of Copper, or any other good heat conducting material. Rotating Turbine And Produce Electricity By supplying high pressure and high temperature steam in the steam turbine the blade of the turbine will rotate and blades will rotate the shaft the of the generator.when the shaft rotates it will produce electricity. Blades will absorb some energy from steam. So the pressure and temperature of the steam will decrease. Condensing and Compressing Steam Released steam is cooled by flowing cold water from condenser tower. Liberated heat from the steam is absorbed by cold water and cold water is converted into hot water. After that compression process is done using compressor. Storage of heat Surplus amount of heat from the sun and emitted heat from the condenser tower is stored in heat capacitors to run the plant when there is no daylight or environmental catastrophe.

Citations The thermal energy radiated by a blackbody radiator per second per unit area is proportional to the fourth power of the absolute temperature and is given while the average emissivity is given by: Blade efficiency Blade efficiency ( ) can be defined as the ratio of the work done on the blades to kinetic energy supplied to the fluid, and is given by = = This type of power station has very high energy losses due to great heat loss in the boiler and condenser. the following equation is used to calculate power station efficiency: Thermal efficiency the above can be re-written as follows: The above generally works out to ±30% for steam power stations.

The above generally works out to ±29% ( 1% loss at the generator ) for steam power stations. Lead Proposer Name : Parvez Ahmmed Address : 11/2, Tajmahal Road, Mohammadpur, Dhaka..
