Having this in place using your PC you can: Dial Telephone numbers directly from electronic address books (LDAP, Outlook etc.) or from applications (Word etc.) Identify the calling persons and show the names on the computer screen Manage journals of your telephone conversation with incoming, going and missed calls where you can directly dial from Comfortable search functions in the various address books, manage short dial numbers Set-up and initiate telephone conferences Team bar with simultaneous monitoring of the availability of all team members 1/12 Uwe Konrad

2 2 Installation of the Tapi-driver at the workstation (as admin) 2.1 Software location for Tapi-driver files://software/siemens/... (see picture) Finish of setuptapi.exe IP-Address and port number of the CAP-Server: IP: Port: Specification of telephone number Agent line isn t necessary! After a re-start please enter the keyword! 3 3 Installation of XPhone (as admin) 3.1 Software location for XPhone files://software/siemens/... (see picture) Finish of setup.exe 3.2 Acceptance of the license agreement and start of the installation After the acceptance of the license agreement please enter the user information. 3/12 Uwe Konrad

4 3.3 Enter the license key Please enter the license key exactly like in picture below! 4/12 Uwe Konrad

5 3.4 Setup the Features Click on your feature you want like Outlook Add-on. Lotus Notes is not used at the FZR and shall be disabled. 3.5 Start the Installation After the finish please confirm with Finish (Fertigstellen). 5/12 Uwe Konrad

6 4 Setup of XPhone (as user) 4.1 Tasks choice After completion of the system analysis (automatic validation) confirm with Finish (Fertigstellen). 4.2 Enter your own telephone number 6/12 Uwe Konrad

7 After you have entered the number it follows an automatic call back to check the number. The telephone settings of XPhone can be changed with the XPhone user interface (menu extras / telephone) later. 4.3 Completion of the XPhone Setup 7/12 Uwe Konrad

8 4.4 Configuration of address books After the start of the XPhone application with the icon on your desktop it is possible to connect the favourite address books. The address books have a central function; they are used to identify the caller (incoming calls), to comment in the calling-list and to choose and dial the telephone numbers for the person you want to call (outgoing calls). As MS Outlook / MS Exchange user: In the menu extras you can find the options for the address-books: 8/12 Uwe Konrad

9 The Folder outlook contacts refers you to your personal contacts in outlook. You have to choose the option connect existing data base (Mapi - data base) with the button Neues Adressbuch to disconnect the global address-book of the FZR active directory. You can choose any name. With the following menu you can select the global register with Globale Adressliste. There is a possibility to connect the FZR-LDAP register optional as type of the data base with the analogue procedure. The personal address-book is a local address-book and in the most of cases empty at the FZR. The order of the address-books is relevant for the search in the address group, because the search takes place sequentially (you can change the search order). 9/12 Uwe Konrad

10 As Netscape / Imap user: The outlook contacts are not needed for IMAP user. Instead of this the central LDAP-register can be connected. A click on the button shows following window: The name of the address-book is freely selectable. The next step is to fill out the window below in the following way and to click on Ok : A click on the button Feldverknüpfung (field mapping) shows you the following window: 10/12 Uwe Konrad

11 The name should be mapped to the attribute sn (family name), because this item makes the search for persons easier Configuration of the search in the address-books For the search in the address-books you can set up fields which shall be used for and the maximum of hits. First select an address-book in the left region of the window and afterwards click on the button Volltextsuche (Full Text Search) next to the checkbox (picture Name, company). Than you get a mask for those settings. 11/12 Uwe Konrad

12 3.6. Configuration of the team functionality XPhone supports team functionality too; you can configure an intelligent menu bar on the PC screen for the members of the team. On the menu bar you can see for example the current calling status (free green; busy, internal call yellow; busy, external call rot etc.) For the configuration you have to open the team assistant with the Windows menu Start Programmes XPhone. This functionality should be agreed within the team, because somebody could have the feeling that another person observers him/her. The XPhone bar can be set so that you see it with the system start, with moving the mouse or it is possible to see it permanently. In case of you use the team functionality, it is safer to use personal keywords in XPhone (instead of the standard keyword xphone ) 3.7. Configuration of an autostart If Xphone shall be started automatically after a reboot of the PC (only this way it can manage the call journals completely), it has to be entered into the Autostart folder of Windows. To specify this you just have to copy the XPhone Shortcut from the Desktop into the Startupfolder of the defined user: C:\Documents and Settings\Nutzername\Start Menu\Programs\Startup 12/12 Uwe Konrad
