2 Determination of total protein content: Determination of Kjeldahl nitrogen The behr equipment for determination of Kjeldahl nitrogen offers the user a complete individually configurable solution for the laboratory. Sample Digestion Units The sample digestion units of the behrotest InKjel line are provided with powerful infra-red heating elements. The quality and positioning of the infra-red heating elements guarantee the user reproducible heating phases and digestion temperatures at all sample positions. This also pertains to the twelve sample digestion unit, in which the samples are arrayed in two rows of six each. Direct irradiation of the samples by the infra-red sources eliminates the painfully slow warm-up phase associated with conventional heating block units. InKjel 625 M Thus, the behrotest InKjel is the ideal rapid digestion unit for the Kjeldahl nitrogen determination and other high temperature sample digestions. Steam distillation units The behr steam distillation units of the S model series are the optimal complement to the InKjel rapid digestion units. Depending on the user s requirements, he may choose between one manual and two automatic steam distillation models. These are similar in concept, but differ in the level of automation and convenience features. The top-of-the-line model, the behr S 5, is designed to accept an external titrator.
