6 High pressure vacuum drying (HPV) Background When moisture is trapped in a void it has no way to escape Historically the only option is to strip out the wall or floor to dry the cavity, leading to High costs of reinstatement, Disruption for the policyholder High AA costs for the insurer If cavity e.g floating floor is not recognised, moisture migrates up walls over time leading to further claim costs Solution Polygon use of HPV in appropriate circumstances Higher drying costs initially due to longer set up but leading to much lower overall claim costs Commercial and domestic applications Vacuum far better than blowing air into cavity moisture is removed, not just moved somewhere else

16 Speed Drying Systems Polygon have been rapid drying for over 30 years in the UK and currently have a range of systems However, experience has demonstrated that rapid drying is very effective in the appropriate circumstances It is not the solution for every wet property.. Wide variety available, known as Speed drying, Rapid Drying Systems, Hydronic drying, Hydrothermic drying amongst others Based on the principal of filling a property with hot dry air (temperatures of between 30 and 70 degrees centigrade are suggested). and increasing the air pressure to allow greater capture of moisture per cubic meter.. The hot dry air becomes highly moisture absorbent and rapidly draws moisture from walls and floors. The moisture saturated air is then purged from from the building by either external venting or internal dehumidification. The systems are commonly trailer mounted and powered by diesel Whilst some companies sell remote monitoring typically these applications require close supervision by trained operatives. Can be high risk due to over-drying / overheating and taking moisture from equilibrium areas,
