4 In Portuguese, "Nice to meet you." is Prazer em conhecê-lo. Portuguese is gender-aware, which means that certain words may change depending on the gender of the individuals involved. In this case, the -la or -lo at the end of the sentence is what changes. says Prazer em conhecê-la to because is a female and -la indicates femininity. says Prazer em conhecê-lo to because is male and -lo indicates masculinity.
