En-route attractions include: The Kerio View, Rimoi National Reserve, Chebloch gorge, among others. Hippopotamus Hippopotamuses require habitats with water deep enough to protect them from overheating and sunburn. Despite their enormous bulk these aquatic mammals move with grace underwater, their specific gravity allows them to sink and literally run at the bottom of the lake. When on land, they can also be nimble and speedy, but it s the battles between males where their power is best demonstrated. Heron People and culture of Baringo The Ilchamus (Njemps) people speak the Samburu language and are often counted as Samburu people. They number about Njemps are unique people who are the only pastoral, cattle herding, tribe who also fish unlike the other pastoralist tribes where eating fish is a taboo. The Njemps are linguistically related to both the Maasai and the Samburu, and possibly genetically related to one, or both of these tribes.
