1 ORANGE COAST COLLEGE TRANSFER CURRICULUM GUIDE BUSINESS LOWER DIVISION MAJOR REQUIREMENTS FOR TRANSFER Revised: 5/18/12 The following courses should be taken at prior to transfer. Courses not offered at will need to be taken after transfer. Four-year colleges and universities often make changes in their requirements for majors. The information contained in this guide is based on the most recent information available from the four-year school and does not constitute an official agreement. Recent updates to this Guide can be found on the Transfer Center Website. UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, BERKELEY Prerequisite Requirements*: BUS 100(or 100H) ECON 170 & 175 ENGL 100 & 101(or 101H) MATH 180(or 180H) & 185(or 185H) or 182H MATH 160(or 160H) *Prerequisite courses must be completed by end of the spring term prior to admission and no more than five years before admission. All courses must be taken for a letter grade of C or higher. Foreign Language Requirement: Complete three years of one foreign language in high school with a grade of C- or better or FREN 185, GERM 185, ITAL 185, JPNS 185 or SPAN 185(or 185H) with a grade of C or better. This requirement can also be satisfied with a score of 590 on the SAT II Foreign Language Exam if taken May, 1995 or later; 3 or better on any AP exam in language other than English; a grade of C or better on the General Certificate A or O Level Foreign Language Exam. Breadth Requirements (not required for admission beginning Fall 2012)**: Instead of the IGETC, students must complete the 7 course breadth requirements listed below. **Business courses, prerequisites and micro/macro economics cannot be used to satisfy breadth requirements. **Courses must be a minimum of 2 units. Scores of A, B or C on GCE A levels are accepted, but no AP, IB or A level exam credit. All transfer applicants will be asked to submit a self-reported academic record (SAR), essay and resume. IGETC does not satisfy admission requirements. To be considered for admission, potential applicants must complete (1) 60 transferable semester units, (2) all prerequisite requirements within the 5 years prior to starting the program, (3) foreign language requirement, and (4) the seven course breadth requirements by the end of the spring semester prior to transfer.
