1 Data Sheet Cisco OnPlus Service Economically Deliver Managed Network Services In today s competitive business environment, IT solution providers are increasingly looking to managed and cloud services as a way to differentiate themselves and tap into new and recurring revenue opportunities. However, until now, the tools available to help monitor and manage a small business network have been complex and expensive or, if they were affordable, incomplete. OnPlus Service is a simple, affordable cloud-based platform that enables IT solution providers serving small businesses to deliver managed network services by offering assessment, management and advising capabilities. OnPlus will also help position the support of specialty managed services practices such as security, voice, and wireless, as well as the sale, deployment, and management of cloud services. The OnPlus 100 Network Agent appliance is installed at the customer premises, to discover network devices and collect data on the network and discovered devices. Through a persistent connection to the Internet, the OnPlus Agent transmits this data to a secure data center and provides the following: Assessment of customer networks through discovery and monitoring of the entire small business network, and displaying them in topology and inventory views. OnPlus will discover and monitor all devices on a network and is not limited only to Cisco products. Also, by allowing secure access into customer networks from anywhere, at any time, using any connected device, partners can assess status and perform actions, so they can be more proactive verses reactive to issues arising, or win over new customers by offering immediate visibility into the network in minutes. A Comprehensive Service with a consistent, superior monitoring and management experience for Cisco devices (support for third-party devices will vary). Reseller partners can define and customize alert thresholds to enable proactive support and device management, as well as notification rules to their customers liking. In addition, OnPlus will alert partners about revenue generating opportunities that is specific to Cisco, such as warranty and service contracts renewal, or end-of-sale of Cisco products. The service also supports configuration backup and restore, application of firmware updates, warranty and support contract status, and reporting. A supported Cisco router or switch must be present on the local network for discovery on more than one VLAN or subnet. OnPlus Reporting function is especially important as it creates an opportunity to deepen the relationship with customers by creating discussion points on the managed service that is being rendered. OnPlus will create periodic reports on a variety of topics, ranging from network status to a complete customer inventory, that can be submitted to the customer on a periodic basis, or reviewed on a tablet device. As future capabilities are added, OnPlus will also recommend partners on availability of new products, features or improvements pertaining to the managed networks Cisco and/or its affiliates. 3 Features and Benefits Simple deployment: The Cisco OnPlus 100 Network Agent is small and unobtrusive, less than 6 inches square, and can be activated in minutes. It can be powered by a connection to a Power over Ethernet (PoE) port on a switch or with an external power adapter. Mobile monitoring and management: Partners can access Cisco OnPlus Service anywhere with any connected device, including a smartphone, tablet, or laptop, to proactively track network status, troubleshoot issues, or perform configuration changes. Partners can receive alerts, check site or device status, read log files, back up configurations, and view network topology. It offers the best experience with supported Cisco devices. Customizable views can include device icons, condition level, status check, category of device and device name, a description, MAC address, and IP address. For Cisco devices, OnPlus also displays the status of product warranty, service contracts, field notices, and end-of-life notifications for hardware and software. Detailed reporting: OnPlus can generate reports based on templates or create custom reports for specific customers or sites. The report can be viewed as part of a dialogue with the customer, or can be generated regularly and sent via to a customer or partner. Ongoing functional updates: As a cloud-based service, OnPlus automatically pushes new features and functions to subscribers when they become available. Cisco partners enjoy consistent access to the latest OnPlus features and capabilities, without the need for manual software updates. Simplified ordering: A single, affordable part number includes a three-year subscription to OnPlus Service and one OnPlus 100 Network Agent. No additional service contract is needed for Cisco support of OnPlus. 4 Getting Started Create your account on the OnPlus portal at Click Sign up now to do so. Access your account and create a customer entry using the Add Customer button. Connect your OnPlus 100 Network Agent to the network Activate your network agent using the unique activation ID that was created in step 2. Or simply use the Activate Now function. Start managing your customer networks within a few minutes a detailed network topology will be displayed so you can begin taking action. Security OnPlus is a secure service that takes many precautions to protect partner data.
