10 Maricopa is an Economic Engine State-wide Economic Impact of $7.3 billion approximately equal to 3.8% of the GRP Student ROI In return for the monies invested in college, MCCCD students will receive a present value of $6 billion in increased earnings over their working lives. Social ROI Arizona society will receive a present value of $25.7 billion in added state income over the course of students working lives, and $337.9 billion in present value social savings related to reduced crime, lower unemployment, and increased health and well-being. Taxpayer ROI In FY , state and local taxpayers in Arizona paid $499 million to support MCCCD operations. 15 Helping Students Advance Toward Educational Goals whatever they may be We are a primary pipeline partnering with local state universities and 30+ other transfer partners , undergraduates enrolled at Arizona s three public universities with 12 or more credits from MCCD were as follows: 23,129 Students 5,332 Students Source: 2,851 Students The Reverse Transfer Project will help Maricopa Community Colleges respond to the national call to action to increase the number of community college students completing a degree or other credential by 50% to 5 million students by the year 2020.

18 Amazon Career Choice Program Starts Amazon associates on a pathway to a degree. Pays 95% of associate tuition, fees, and books. Courses offered at a dedicated classroom at Amazon. MCOR works with Amazon to determine program offerings: Accounting Comp TIA (A+, Network+, and Security+) Medical Billing and Coding Pharmacy Technician Approximately 100 Amazon associates trained to date.

19 RioAchieve Program Funded by a Next Generation Learning Challenge grant (partners include the Gates Foundation). Developed to boost student retention and completion. Components include: Completion portal- allows students to monitor progress towards a degree Intervention dashboard- automatically alerts staff Predictive analytics system- monitors successful student behavior Technology-based solution- assists faculty in providing customized, personalized, detailed feedback to students Student helpdesk- provides high-touch, intrusive advising and mentoring

22 RioAchieve Gates Foundation Visit Gates Foundation Valued: Experimentation with flexible learning models and ways for students to get their degrees online. Broadening access to higher education, especially for low-income students. Developing new approaches to student advising by using data about students online learning habits.

23 Arizona Sun Corridor Get Into Energy Consortium (ASC-GIEC) Funded by a U.S. Department of Labor Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant $13.5 million program to provide a talent pipeline to Arizona s energy and mining industries. Designed to include stackable credentials. Partners include Arizona Public Service (APS) Arizona Rural Electric Cooperatives ASARCO Freeport McMoRan Palo Verde NGS Salt River Project (SRP) Tucson Electric Power

25 ASC-GIEC Cybersecurity Degree Pathway Offers a serpentine, non-linear pathway for individuals to gain competency levels through coursework and experience: High School and College Career Readiness/Employability Associate Degree Technician Bachelor s Degree Practitioner Master s Degree Expert/Senior Practitioner Estrella Mountain CC has been designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Two- Year Education by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

27 Other Maricopa TAACCCT Grants National Information Security, Geospatial Technologies Consortium (NISGTC) Offers training to individuals in Information Technology (IT) areas. Arizona Advanced Manufacturing Institute (AZ-AMI) Provides long-term support to aerospace and advanced manufacturing industries. Arizona Regional Advanced Manufacturing Professional Upgrade Project (AZ RAMP Up) Designed to accelerate student learning in advanced manufacturing.
