The crisis line is staffed by mental health professionals who can respond to a crisis 24 hours per day and 7 days per week. NAMI advocates for access to services, treatment, supports and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community for hope for all of those in need. State, Federal, and Local Government in New Mexico: New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department The New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department provides an array of prevention, intervention, rehabilitative and after- care services such as domestic violence programs, foster care, protective services, juvenile justice, adoption services, transition services, probation and aftercare. New Mexico Human Services Department: The Human Services Department administers such programs as Medicaid, TANF, Food Stamps, and Child Support Enforcement Services, among others. Food Resource Directory (St. Joseph Community Health): Contains a listing of food resources in New Mexico, including the SNAP (Food Stamp) program, WIC offices, Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), Share New Mexico, soup kitchens, food pantries, hot meals for senior citizens, home gardening, farmer's markets, summer lunch program, and school lunch programs. Also included is a list of school- based health centers and contact information. The directory is provided in both English and Spanish. United Way of Central New Mexico 211: United Way of Central New Mexico has put together a list of resources designed to help everyone from babies through senior citizens. This comprehensive list has addresses, phone numbers, and a map to the location that specializes in the services that you may need. New Mexico Social Service Resource Directory: The New Mexico Aging and Long- Term Services Department provides information about providers of health care, transportation, assisted living, independent living centers, legal services, and more.

Community Action New Mexico: Provides services and advocacy throughout the state surrounding such issues as the economy, financial literacy and asset- building, education, housing, and community development. New Mexico Voices for Children: A nonpartisan organization that advocates to improve the health and well- being of children, families, and communities in New Mexico. New Mexico Disabilities Portal: A site to connect New Mexicans with disabilities to resources that meet their individual needs. STATEWIDE TRIBAL RES Education for Parents of Indian Children with Special needs (EPICS) EPICS is non- profit community parent resource center for families who live in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado who have American Indian children with disabilities and/or special healthcare needs from birth to age 26 years old. Native American Professional Parent Resources NAPPR has provided culturally sensitive and appropriate services to Native American families in Albuquerque and surrounding areas for more than 30 years. 7 NATIONAL RESOURCE INFORMATION BODY IMAGE AND EATING DISORDERS Eating Disorders Help Line Hours are 9:30am- 5:30 p.m. MST. Trained staff members answer questions about eating disorders, offer support for addressing food and body image issues, and provide treatment and counseling referrals. Referrals to Eating Disorder Specialists CRISIS (GENERAL) Safe Place current location(address/city/state) to TXT 4 HELP is a nationwide service offered by National Safe Place to help teens connect to the closest location where they can get immediate help and safety. Girls & Boys Town National Hotline A crisis, resource, and referral line. Call for advice on ANY issue, 24- hours a day, seven days a week. You can also visit to your questions to a counselor who will respond ASAP or visit the online chat room. National Runaway Switchboard Call RUNAWAY if you are a teenager who is thinking of running away from home, if you have a friend who has run and is looking for help, or if you are a runaway ready to go home through the Home Free program. This is a 24- hour crisis line that has experienced team

8 United Way Teen Help Ext. 118 DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/CHILD ABUSE ACHILD This 24- hour hotline offers crisis counseling on sexual abuse, domestic violence, rape, and missing children, including information and referrals for treatment programs, shelters, and legal assistance. National Domestic Violence Hotline En español TDD/TTY National Teen Dating Abuse Help NM Domestic Violence Hotline EDUCATION Federal Student Aid TTY/TDD Federal Student Aid, a department of the U.S. Department of Education, plays a central role in supporting postsecondary education by providing money or college to eligible students and families. National Center for Learning Disabilities The Center provides essential information to parents, professionals and individuals with learning disabilities. New Mexico Higher Education Dept Community resources, preparing for undergraduate programs, and being able to afford a college education. FAMILY Child Find of America National Hotline for Missing and Exploited Children A hotline for reporting missing children and sighting missing children. Hours of operation are 5:30am- 9:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time I- AM- LOST HEALTH Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder This hotline provides information on support groups and other advocacy resources for children and adults with ADHD. Self- Injury Hotline This hotline provides information and treatment referrals for adults and adolescents who engage in deliberate, repeated self- injurious behavior.

9 INFORMATION OTHER Gambling Addiction Hour confidential national hotline associated with the National Council on Problem Gambling. NM Girls Institute A program of the NM Commission on the Status of Women. This toll- free number offers information and referrals to community resources. The Commission is open weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Opción española disponible. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES Boys and Girls Clubs of America Girl Scouts of the Americas NM American Coed Pageants YMCA CLUB PREGNANCY AND SEXUAL HEALTH Abortion Information The hotline is open weekdays from 5am- 8pm MST, Saturdays from 6am- 3pm and Sundays from 7am- 3pm. The hotline answers any questions you may have about abortion, unintended pregnancy, or related issues. The hotline is free, completely anonymous, and offers services to everyone, regardless of their individual situation This is a national free service provides counseling and information regarding pregnancy options; although counselors do not provide direct referrals to abortion service providers, they will provide referrals to non- profit organizations and community resources. Birthright Birthright provides support to girls and women who are distressed by an unplanned pregnancy and offers support and alternatives to abortion. All Birthright services are free, absolutely confidential and available to all women. Emergency Contraception Hotline NOT2LATE This automated directory provides a listing of doctors, hospitals, and family planning clinics that provide emergency contraception options. 10 National HIV/AIDS Hotline Confidential 24- hour information and referral hotline sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. National Sexually Transmitted Disease Hotline AIDS en español SIDA AIDS (TTY/TDD) This hotline, sponsored by the CDC, provides anonymous, confidential information on the treatment and prevention of sexually transmitted infections and diseases as well as referrals to local testing sites. Planned Parenthood of USA PLAN Services provided: sexual health information and referrals to local contraceptive health services. Opción española disponible. SEXUAL ASSAULT/ABUSE National Sexual Assault Hotline HOPE Free confidential counseling and support for victims of sexual abuse. Calls are immediately routed to the nearest rape crisis center. Operated by RAINN. SEXUALITY Gay and Lesbian National Hotline Hours are Monday- Friday from 4am- 8pm, and Saturday from 10am- 3pm MST. This hotline is staffed by trained volunteers who offer counseling services and referrals specific to the gay and lesbian community. Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth Support Trevor Helpline for Gay/Lesbian Youth This 24- hour crisis hotline is staffed by trained counselors who offer support to gay and lesbian youth on everything from coming out to suicide. SUBSTANCE ABUSE (DRUGS/ALCOHOL) Al- Anon Hope and help for young people who are the relatives and friends of a problem drinker Alateen Alateen is a part of Al- Anon, and is a recovery program for young people and includes groups sponsored by Al- Anon members. It also has online support options such as web boards and links to chat rooms. Freevibe Freevibe is a drug information and education campaign for teens. Learn the facts about drugs s about drugs and alcohol. girlshealth.gov This site has a lot of cool information teens can use. The site was created to help girls learn about health, growing up and other issues they may face. It focuses on health topics that you are concerned about and helps motivate you to choose healthy behaviors.

TeenHelp TeenHelp is an anonymous support site where anyone can come for help with a problem. Their system consists of a staff of over 50 e- mail mentors who are available to answer your questions. They also have a live help system which allows you to talk to their staff members one- on- one. Everything on the site is totally anonymous, and better yet, totally free!
