6 Justification is based on historical completion rates by academic year by the top code of 0702 Information Systems at the cccco.edu Chancellor s Data Mart. Along with this the labor market indicators state over an 18% growth in these fields in San Diego County. The combination of growth in the field and growth in annual completion indicates this is a strong program with plenty of room for growth. 6. Place of Program in Curriculum/Similar Programs This program uses many of the course currently found in Business, Math, and CSIT discipline s. It does not replace any programs in the curriculum. However, it organizes the courses into a new degree that will transfer to many 4 year universities in California. 7. Similar Programs at Other Colleges in Service Area There are 64 schools around California that offer information systems training. In the state, these schools are located in 48 cities. In particular, San Diego and San Francisco are the two cities with the greatest concentration of accredited information systems schools in CA.\ However, in the San Diego area, there are no state funded schools that offer a 2 year degree for transfer in Information Systems. A listing of the schools in the San Diego area offering a 2 year degree in Information Systems: Alliant International University Pomerado Road San Diego CA Coleman University 8888 Balboa Ave San Diego CA ITT Technical Institute 9680 Granite Ridge Dr San Diego CA Point Loma Nazarene University 3900
7 Lomaland Dr., San Diego CA University of Phoenix 3890 Murphy Canyon Road Suite 100 San Diego CA Programs at 4 year universities in which this A.S. in Information Systems would likely transfer: University of California 405 Hilgard Ave Los Angeles CA University of Southern California University Park Los Angeles CA University of California 900 University Ave Riverside CA Labor Market Information (LMI & Analysis) As with any computer related field in California, the Information Systems and related occupations are growing at steady rates (18.8%) with very high median incomes ($70.13/hr). As business collect and analyze more data, individuals skilled in Information Systems will be in high demand.
