Nanping Weishi LVL Scaffold Plank Brochure Weishi Wood Inudstry Co., Ltd. is PFS Certified Mill. Weishi Planks are OSHA Compliant Products. Weishi Team is Aimed to Offer You the Best Quality and Service. 1
PLANK APPLICATION 2
PREFACE In order to offer qualified products to all customers to avoid loss caused by poor planks, Weishi made agreement with the American third party inspection agency PFS Corporation on Aug. 1 st 2007, since that, Weishi spent all his time and energy on bringing advanced facilities, improving plant layout, enhancing quality control and training workers under conduct by the agency, and to be proved to comply with the OSHA regulation and ANSI A10.8 finally after their in-plant inspection and test. Recently, we are duly granted the third party inspection certificate, Cheers! About our inspection agent PFS Corporation are as follows : Source from PFS Corporation of Madison, Wisconsin, is an internationally recognized, independent quality assurance agency, unaffiliated with any manufacturer or specific trade name. It is headed by a building industry veteran with more than 30 years of leadership experience in building construction and code compliance, and staffed by unique and competent quality control engineers. PFS was chartered in 1959 as Plywood Fabricator Service, a nonprofit plywood quality control agency affiliated with the American Plywood Association (APA). As factory production of structural components and entire buildings became widespread, more complete quality control services were needed by the building industry. PFS answered that need by expanding its scope to include plan review and inspection services for the housing industry. The name was changed to Product Fabrication Service and moved from Tacoma, Washington to Madison, Wisconsin in
In 1978, the Internal Revenue Service determined that PFS was an independent agency no longer eligible for nonprofit status; hence, the present PFS Corporation was formed. As of November 14, 2000, PFS Corporation became an employee-owned corporation (ESOP) under the leadership of Michael J. Slifka, President. See corporate news article No. 5. PFS growth continues as the No. 1 third party agency in the industrialized construction industry. PFS has come full circle since its 1959 beginnings, diversifying from serving manufacturers of plywood to factory-built structures, heating appliances, and wood component systems. PFS provides certification services to most of the major engineered wood producers in the United States. Today PFS has over 100 employees including thirteen licensed engineers and two wood scientists. It also operates a 10,000 sq. ft. testing and research facility in Madison, Wisconsin, certifying wood products for nearly 800 manufacturing facilities as far away as the jungles of Indonesia. PFS continues to grow and expand its services to the wood construction industry. 4
LVL INTRODUCTION Laminated Veneer Lumber is produced by bonding thin wood veneers together in a large billet so that the grain of all veneers is parallel to the long direction. The LVL billet is then sawn to desired dimensions depending on the construction application. Some of the products many uses are for headers and beams, hip and valley rafters, scaffold planking, and the flange material for prefabricated wood I-joist. Compare with traditional timber planks, they are stronger and have minimized the natural defects such as knots and warping, the planks are designed with predictable performance, to offer an safer condition to construction workers. Quality equals to lives! Weishi Planks Will be Your Best Choice! 5
WEISHI LVL SCAFFOLD PLANK DESIGN PROPERTIES Plank Thickness 1 1/2" Flexural Stress, Fb 2, 950 psi Modulus of Elasticity, E 2.00 x 10 6 psi Horizontal Shear Stress, Fv 200 psi Compression Perpendicular to Grain, Fc 435 psi Coefficient of Variation (COV) 12% General Notes Design properties are determined in accordance with ANSI A , Appendix C. These properties apply only to Weishi laminated veneer lumber (LVL) scaffold planks used in conditions where the moisture content of the plank is not expected to exceed 19%. These values apply only to planks used in the flat orientation. Fb, E, and Fv shall be adjusted by a factor of 0.80 when used in conditions where the moisture content of the plank is expected to exceed 19%. No increases in allowable unit stresses are included for load-sharing systems. Values are for new or like-new product. 6

General Notes Design load deflection is limited to L/60. Two-span values assume both spans have equal lengths. Contact Weishi Q.C. Depart. when the two spans do not have equal lengths. Spans shown are considered the distance between the center lines of bearers. Actual Weishi LVL scaffold plank lengths will be greater due to overhangs or overlaps specified in ANSI A10.8. Contact Weishi Q.C. Depart. for additional span information Uniform and person loads shown are defined in ANSI A10.8. Proper Weishi LVL scaffold plank selection must be based on the most restrictive load case anticipated when planks are in service. 8
