1 2015/2016 FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS The Freeport-McMoRan Foundation is proud to fund scholarships through select universities across North America. Participating universities are listed below. If you are enrolled full-time in a bachelor s degree program at one of the listed institutions and meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in our scholarship application, we invite you to apply. Application Instructions: 1. Download a copy of the scholarship application. 2. Review the instructions on the scholarship application for eligibility and timeline. 3. Compile scholarship packet (completed scholarship application, questionnaire, essay, resume and unofficial transcript). 4. Submit scholarship packet directly to your institution s scholarship representative. Contact information for participating universities is listed below. 3 Scholarship Eligibility: All of the following criteria must be met to be eligible for the scholarship. Citizen of the United States, Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chile, Peru, Canada, Mexico or Australia. Minimum 2.7 overall GPA and in good standing Full-time undergraduate enrollment as a sophomore, junior or senior majoring in: Mining Engineering Metallurgical Engineering Geology Institutions without the majors reflected above, or without qualified students in those majors, may select students in the following majors: Engineering (chemical, mechanical, electrical, environmental or geological) Science (chemistry, environmental, health & safety or industrial hygiene) Attend one of the following institutions: Arizona State University Colorado School of Mines Eastern Arizona College Michigan Technological University Missouri University of Science & Technology Montana Tech of The University of Montana New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology New Mexico State University Northern Arizona University Pima Community College South Dakota School of Mines & Technology University of Arizona University of Nevada, Reno University of Texas at El Paso University of Utah Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Submission of completed application, questionnaire, personal essay, unofficial transcript and resume to institution Note: Preference may be given to students entering their junior or senior year; as well as to students who have previously completed an FCX internship or who live in one of FCX s operating communities. Prior receipt of a scholarship does not guarantee a future scholarship and FCX reserves the right of final approval with respect to the selection of all scholarship recipients. Scholarship renewal is contingent upon academic progress, the discretion of the institution and FCX. FCX reserves the right to communicate directly with scholarship recipients regarding company news and available employment and internship opportunities.
