At the university s Institute of Biochemistry and Biology the following workgroups do research in the field of in vitro-diagnostics and bioanalytics: The research group Integrated Protein Chips for Point of Care Diagnostics ipoc (head: Dr. habil. Axel Warsinke) developed a platform technology for small and fast protein microarrays, which later can be used in hand-held units in a medical practice for example.
