Hotel rates are valid now through December 31, As noted below, a few hotels have a different rate for the remainder of Rates are subject to all applicable taxes. At certain times a hotel will not offer the special rate, even when rooms are available at a higher rate. This is the hotel s prerogative. Please note that if you use a debit or credit card when registering at a hotel, it is standard practice for them to place a hold on enough funds in your account to cover your total room costs, plus any possible damages or incidentals during your stay. You will not be able to use any of those funds until your account is settled within a few days after you depart. Since your arrangements are made directly with the hotel, you are responsible for any problems, errors, or difficulties that may arise. 5 AUTOMOBILE RENTAL Automobile Rental Instructions and Reminders All rates shown are valid through December 31, You must be at least 21 years of age, show a valid driver s license, and provide a credit card in your own name. When calling, identify yourself as one of Jehovah s Witnesses or a visitor to the Watchtower facilities. When parking the vehicle during your rental, remove personal belongings from view (either take them with you or place them in the trunk). Additional qualifications will apply if using a debit card or cash. Call the location you are renting from in advance for the specific qualifications. Vehicle Inspection Checklist Before You Leave the Car Rental Lot Carefully read the Rental Agreement before you sign it. Inspect the vehicle for any damage, or you may be liable for pre-existing damages when you return the vehicle. Look for chips or cracks in the glass, dents, missing items (hubcaps, gas caps, etc.). Report any damage to the representative before you leave, having the items noted on your Rental Agreement. ENTERPRISE RENT-A-CAR The Watchtower corporate ID number for Enterprise rentals is: FFC1700. Provide this number when you reserve a vehicle. In addition to the local numbers for each area, reservations can also be made by calling or online at (Use the corporate ID number FFC1700 and enter the 3 digit PIN WAT ) Ask for, or note, the total estimated charges including sales tax. If renting from the Newark Liberty, John F. Kennedy, or LaGuardia airport locations, an 11.11% airport access fee will be added. Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) or Damage Waiver (DW) is not included. You may purchase this coverage. If you are not purchasing CDW or DW insurance be sure to use a credit card that offers CDW/DW insurance. Renter s personal automobile insurance, if transferable, may cover in full. Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) provides coverage up to $1,000, in the event of a claim. The following rates and taxes apply for the various locations listed below: Connecticut: Insurance costs: Purchase CDW insurance $19.99 per day; Personal Accident Insurance $3.00 per day; SLP $14.99 per day. Taxes: Motor Vehicle Surcharge, 3%; Sales Tax, 9.35%; State Tourism Tax, $1.00 per day. New Jersey: Insurance costs: Purchase CDW insurance $19.99 per day; Personal Accident Insurance $3.00 per day; SLP $15.00 per day. (These insurance costs are the same for Newark Airport.) Taxes: Domestic Security Fee (formerly Homeland Security Fee) $5.00 per day up to $140 per month. If the rental is month to month with no breaks in rental days, the Domestic Security Fee would then only be charged for the first month. Sales Tax 7%. Newark Liberty International Airport Only: Taxes: Newark Motor Vehicle Rental Tax 5%; Transportation Facility Tax $2.00 per day; Domestic Security Fee $5.00 per day; Sales Tax 7%. New York: Insurance costs: Purchase DW insurance $8.99 per day for cars up to Premium, including Minivans; $11.99 per day for Premium and SUV; Personal Accident Insurance is $2.50 per day (non-airport). If you are renting from an airport, Personal Accident Insurance with Personal Effects Coverage is $5.50 per day; SLP $13.80 per day. Taxes: New York City Metro area %. For locations outside of the metropolitan area, local applicable state taxes will apply which may be lower than %. Renter must report any accident to the police and provide Enterprise with an Accident Information Exchange Form within 24 hours of an accident. Renters of Economy, Compact, Mid-size, Standard, Full-size, Premium, and Luxury vehicles have unlimited mileage within the tristate area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut). When traveling outside the tri-state area, or when renting a Minivan, vehicle mileage will be capped at 200 free miles per day, and $.20 each additional mile thereafter. The 200 free miles per day are cumulative, that is, a 7-day rental will allow 1,400 miles total, etc. Free of charge, Enterprise will pick up renters and bring them to the rental location and provide a drop-off service after the rental vehicle is returned, within the region of each rental location. It is preferred that rented vehicles be returned to the location from which they were rented, although Enterprise will allow vehicles to be returned to a different rental location in the same region without a drop charge. Each of the following constitutes a separate rental region: Brooklyn/Queens; Bronx; Manhattan; Staten Island; New Jersey; Connecticut; upstate New York. A drop charge will be assessed for a rental returned to a different region. Complimentary shuttles are available from La Guardia, JFK, and Newark Liberty airports to the airport rental location. 8 THRIFTY CAR RENTAL (Canada Bethel only) The Watch Tower account number for Thrifty Car Rental is: Provide this number when you reserve a vehicle, whether booking by telephone, online or at the rental counter. Renters of all vehicle types have unlimited kilometers up to a maximum of six days. After six days, kilometers are capped at 1,400 per week, and $0.18 per additional kilometer. There is no charge for additional drivers and no surcharge for drivers years old. All rates shown are in Canadian currency. Weekly rate is calculated at 5.5 times the corporate daily rate; monthly rate is four (4) times the weekly rate; extra day rate is equal to daily rate. Maximum rental period is 28 days. In Canada, Loss Damage Waiver is an optional coverage and available at $18 per day. A zero deductible applies for drivers over 25 years of age. Coverage is void if rental agreement is violated. Primary third party liability protection (up to state/provincial minimums) when renting on company business. (See * and ** below) Canadian Surcharge & Exception city list applies. U.S. surcharge areas: Manhattan $15.00/day and all other New York State locations $9.00/day. In addition, rentals in Manhattan may be subject to blackout dates and cost recovery fee. Weekend rentals in Manhattan are not eligible for corporate rates (Thursday noon to Sunday noon). An advance reservation is required. A limited number of vehicles are available at this rate. No midweek or one-day rental surcharges. Rates apply to all major Canadian airport locations and U.S. locations. (Limited U.S. seasonal locations substitute 10% discount.) Corporate rates do not include commissions, taxes, refueling, other optional items or applicable fees, including, but not limited to, airport access fees, airport concession fees, vehicle license fees, consolidated facility fees or charges, or transportation charges. The terms and conditions of the Thrifty standard rental agreement apply at time of rental, unless otherwise stated herein. Frequent Flyer miles may be subject to a frequent flyer surcharge collected at time of rental. Authorized one-way charges will apply. Canada rentals only US border crossings require prior written approval of rental location. Provincial liability minimums apply to all insurance as required by the respected laws of the province. Terms of agreement are only valid on car types listed above and all benefits are void if rental agreement is violated. Nationwide agreement does not supersede local agreement. *This benefit does not apply to rental transactions at rates other than the corporate rate. **Uninsured or underinsured motorist or motor vehicle coverage or supplemental no fault or any other optional coverage is not provided, unless such coverage is imposed by the law of the state in which the vehicle is rented in spite of the terms of the rental agreement in which case they shall be, if imposed, in the minimum limits required by applicable law. To the extent permitted by law, Thrifty, Company and the renter reject the inclusion of any such coverage. Any protection against third-party automobile liability claims provided to renters under this Agreement will be provided under a certificate of self-insurance, an insurance policy, and/or an indemnification, as Thrifty chooses.
