4 Jacobsen Rollers Rollers play a critical role in providing consistent, even support for the mower, particularly the cutting unit. That s why Jacobsen offers a complete selection of rollers to meet the cutting performance and ground following you desire, regardless of the application. Front Rollers Grooved Machined Aluminum Grooves in the roller allow the cutting unit to sit further down into the turf for a more aggressive cut and improved straight-line tracking. Grooved Machined Steel Provides the performance advantages of the grooved aluminum roller, however, the steel is heavier which results in an even more aggressive cut. Grooved Segmented Machined Aluminum This grooved machined aluminum system features three segments. These segments can rotate at different speeds, making tight turns on greens easier when doing cleanup passes. Grooved Assembly Steel Disc Wide spacing between the discs makes these rollers the most aggressive; recommended for straight-line mowing only. Solid Tubes Available in light or heavy versions; both are less aggressive than grooved rollers making them ideal for use on turf under stress. They are better than full-length grooved rollers for tight turns on cleanup passes because solid rollers slide across the turf. The heavier roller is slightly more aggressive. Rollers feature a scraper to prevent debris buildup. Rear Rollers These rollers help to support the cutting unit and ensure there is a consistent height of cut across the unit. The rear roller also delivers a manicured, striping effect after the cut. 2

25 The Classic XP Reel Difference Run-out is a measure of how true the reel is to holding a perfect cylindrical shape (less is better). A reel that is more true out of the box will take less time to setup and last longer because it requires less grinding to bring it into shape. We measured a random sample of reels from 3 competitors. Here is what we found Run-out: The next closest competitor (on average) had 10 times more run-out than the Jacobsen reel. The Jacobsen reel was the only reel that could hold a variance of less than.001 (inches) every time! Non-Jacobsen reels were not only found to have lower average numbers for flatness and run-out, but the amount of variation was much larger than a Jacobsen reel. So while you may get one non-jacobsen reel among five that are within specification, the remaining reels could be very, very bad. Reel diameter has no effect on the frequency of clip. Typically larger diameter reels have thicker blades which are more resistant to impact damage. Number of Blades: A reel with fewer blades will accommodate more grass for a given reel diameter. For any given mower, a higher blade count reel will have a higher the frequency of clip (more cuts are made over a given distance). WARNING Before you clean, adjust, or repair this equipment, disengage all drives, lower implements to the ground, engage parking brake, stop engine and remove key from ignition switch to prevent injuries. 1. Always clean the grease fitting before and after lubricating. 2. Lubricate with grease that meets or exceeds NLGI Grade 2 LB specifications. Apply grease with a manual grease gun and fill slowly until grease begins to seep out. Do not use compressed air guns. 3. Periodically apply a small amount of lithium based grease to the seat runners. 4. For smooth operation of all levers, pivot points and other friction points that are not shown on the lubrication chart apply several drops of SAE 30 oil every 40 hours or as required. 5.
