3 As a Leads Board Member you will: Participate in a well organized governing body that is comprised of passionate and involved people from all walks of life Work with Leads in ensuring they are meeting the vision, mission and strategic plan Have your choice of committee work such as strategic planning, finance, human resources, corporate development, norminating Enhance the organization s public image through involvement and networking Assess performance of the Board and Executive Director Support Leads by joining our team When are Board Meetings held? Meetings are held every last Tuesday and usually commence at approximately 5:15 p.m. for one and half hour. There are no meetings in July, August and December. What is the time commitment for committee work? Depending on the committee, it averages one hour monthly. What is the term for each Director? The term is for two years. Nomination will take place at the Annual General Meeting in which the Director can be retained for another succeeding term. Is there Training? To ensure total comfort with Leads, training is provided in the form of mentoring from the Board Members, management exposure and job shadowing with an Employment Specialist. Are you interested? 6 Our History Leads Employment Services London Inc., is a not-for-profit employment and skills development agency for people with physical, mental, developmental and learning disabilities and/or barriers to employment, directed by a Volunteer Board of Directors. Leads began in February We have served over 12,000 people and successfully secured over 13,000 placements in the job market at minimum wage or better. Leads services have been purchased by: Ministry of Community and Social Services, Service Canada, Ontario Works, Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, Rehabilitation Companies and Insurance Companies on an annual basis. Leads Employment Services, the trade name for Leads Employment Services London Inc. since 2006 is used to reflect our provision of services in Southwestern Ontario.

11 The National Occupational Classification Report The National Occupational Classification (NOC) is a system for describing the occupations of Canadians. It gives statisticians, labour market analysts, career counsellors, employers and individual job seekers a standardized way of describing and understanding the nature of work. The system includes a series of publications that help these people to organize and use statistics and other labour market facts.

15 Leads Outstanding Team Leads staff is made up of very diverse and experienced professionals who come from all facets of education and background: accounting, real estate, business administration, human resources, social work, child and youth workers, senior management, advertising and marketing, media, developmental service workers, health care, pension underwriters, personal support workers, social service workers, air cadets, crisis counsellors, educators, restaurateurs, employment specialists, computer specialists, graphic design, guidance & counselling, arts, fitness, entrepreneurs and sales. Many have their post secondary education in College certification, Bachelor and Masters Degrees as well as having certification in specialized areas such as Special Education, Life Skills, Personality Dimensions, Supported Employment, Not for Profit Voluntary Management and many more. The dynamics of such diversity in the Leads team has proven to be a strong and successful force in achieving the balance of providing a good match to employers who are hiring and people with disabilities and or barriers that have the abilities and skills to perform the job. Leads strive for continuous professional development for all employees so we may go beyond customer satisfaction, creating a world class organization.
