The survey is a good measure of effectiveness because: 1. The rankings are based on physicians ratings of systems they are using 2. The key performance areas focus on what is important to physicians A top ranking in these categories reflect a higher level of excellence. Multi-Year Surescripts Excellence Award Receiving the Surescripts Excellence Award for multiple years indicates a dedication to clinical quality and best practices in e-prescribing. MediTouch received the Surescripts White Coat of Quality for 2013, the third consecutive year. Surescripts only lists one year of award winners at a time on their website, so this listing was determined via Google search and a review of each company's website. - Full Functionality means the EHR was designed for the ipad and is not simply a limited functionality app. 100% functionality is available on the ipad. Companies that use third party virtualization software to support their EHRs on the ipad tend to slow physicians down and make a large difference in functionality. Our assumption in assessing this category was that companies with full ipad functionality are proud to explain that feature on their website; we thoroughly researched the website of these EHRs for that information. Caution: This ranking was determined to the best of our ability by reviewing each vendor's website for mention of cloud usage in Nov/Dec via the Internet Archive website "The Wayback Machine." It was impossible to be precise, but if there was no mention of being Cloudbased on the website, it was assumed the EHR was not Cloud-based at that time.
