The Integrated Multi-Service Gateway (img) replaces the standard High Speed Internet modem. The Integra img must be used to deliver your High Speed Internet Connection. 2. Plug power supply into img and wall electric outlet. 3. Plug telephone cord into telephone jack and img (note: if you wish to use a telephone in that jack, plug splitter into jack first, then connect one phone cord to the img and another to the telephone) 4. At this point it is very important that you do NOT plug in any computers, routers or printers to the img LAN ports. 5. Let img sit for 30 minutes. The img goes through a boot up process that downloads the configuration of the DSL service. Any interruption of the boot up process could result in your DSL service not working properly. 6. After that time you may plug in a router or computer into the LAN ports in the back of the img. 7. Install the DSL noise filters, on all devices that share the phone line (i.e., phones, faxes, TiVo, satellite receivers, wireless jacks, dial up modems, etc.). Do not install a DSL noise filter between the telephone jack and img. If this is done, DSL service will not function. Additional phone filters are available from Integra if needed. 2 Integra Telecom

22 DSL Troubleshooting Tips Power Cycle the img (unplug power cable then plug back into electrical outlet). After about 10 seconds, check the lights on the modem. No Power light Verify that the power plug is securely plugged from the img to the electrical outlet. Make sure the electrical outlet is operational. Test outlet with a lamp or small appliance. If Power light still does NOT come on, please call our Technical Support No ADSL light The ADSL light indicates the connection between the img and the Integra Office. Power cycle or unplug the img, wait 5-10 seconds, then plug img back in. Verify that the phone cord from the Wall Jack to the img modem is free of any DSL line filters. The phone cord form the Wall Jack should be plugged into the ADSL port on the back of the img. Make sure the Wall Jack has Dial Tone. Test Wall Jack with a spare phone for Dial Tone. If your residence/business has multiple active phone numbers, make sure the Wall Jack you are using has the correct phone number for DSL service. If ADSL light still does NOT come on, please call our Technical Support Integra Telecom

23 No LAN light The LAN light indicates the connection between the img and the customer equipment (i.e., computer, router, etc.) Check if the Ethernet cable is securely connected to the LAN port on the img. Check and make sure computers and/or routers are powered on. Power cycle or unplug the img, wait 5-10 seconds, then plug the img back in. Restart your computer. If you have a router, unplug power to the router and plug it back in. You may also want to check your computer s Network Card/Ethernet Card is properly installed. If LAN light still does NOT come on, please call our Technical Support Power, ADSL, and LAN lights on, but still no connection. Power cycle or unplug the img, wait 5-10 seconds, then plug the img back in. Restart your computer. Re-check your computer s configuration. If you still cannot connect, please call our Technical Support Integra Telecom

24 DSL Filters Check and place DSL line filters on all devices that share the phone line (i.e., phones, faxes, TiVo, satellite receivers, wireless jacks, dial up modems, etc.). Check to make sure DSL line filters are installed correctly: The end labeled Line should face the Wall Jack and the end labeled Phone should face the device using the phone line (i.e., phones, faxes, satellite receivers, wireless jacks, dial up modems, etc.). If you are using a 2-Line phone, then have the phone cord from the Wall Jack plug into Line 1 of the 2-Line Phone. The DSL line filters supplied by Integra Telecom will allow 2 voice lines through them, but will only filter noise from Line 1. Special 2-Line DSL filters are available upon request. If static continues, please call our Technical Support Integra Telecom
