7 Definitions GROUPS First time, Full time Bachelor's Degree seeking Cohort OUTCOMES Bachelor's Degree Rate: Same (Public s) Bachelor's Degree Rate: Same (Private s) Bachelor's Degree Rate: Different Ohio Public Earned an Associate's Degree from Ohio Public Still Enrolled in Ohio Public The students in this cohort must fulfill three criteria: the students must be first time ever in college in the fall 2004 term, enrolled in 12 or more hours in the fall 2004 term, and must be seeking a bachelor's degree. The cohort may include students whose first term of enrollment is summer 2004, if they continue their enrollment in fall For public institutions, the cohort data are taken from the Cohort Tracking (CT) files submitted to the Ohio Board of Regents. For private institutions, the cohort data are taken from Graduation Rate Surveys as submitted to IPEDS. Student has earned a bachelor's degree within 6 years or less at the same institution as reported in the CT (Cohort Tracking) file. This will match the graduation rate as reported in the IPEDS Graduation Rate Survey. This "same institution" rate is comparable to the rates reported for private institutions. Student has earned a bachelor's degree within 6 years or less at the same institution as reported in the IPEDS Graduation Rate Survey. This "IPEDS rate" rate is comparable to the "same institution" rates reported for public institutions. Reported for public institutions. Student has earned a bachelor's degree within 6 years or less at another Ohio public institution. The additional "transfer graduate" data is obtained from Degree Completion (DC) files submitted to the Ohio Board of Regents. Students that have transferred from a public school to a private school will not be captured in this field. Reported for public institutions. Originally bachelor's degree seeking, the student has earned an associate degree from any Ohio public institution within six years. Reported for public institutions. A student who has not graduated and is still enrolled in an Ohio public institution in any term of the sixth year. These students are included in the calculation of Total Graduation or Retention Rate. Ohio Board of Regents 5 October 2011
