1.a) Road infrastructure and environment will hardly be able to bear future cargo volumes without significant adverse affects Road cargo is significantly growing. As a consequence, there is massive threat of gridlocks in upcoming years. Societies face extremely high external costs caused by this unhealthy trend. 73% of road cargo is processed by means of semitrailers * the vast majority of which cannot use rail as a route of transport due to the fact that they are not furnished with necessary special and costly equipment. There is obviously a strong need to find solutions which contribute to the reduction of CO 2 and SMOG pollution, the avoidance of further traffic congestions and accidents, that will provide major savings in highway build and maintenance costs but simultaneously ensure secure and sustainable availability of efficient and hiqh quality transport solutions CargoBeamer * TH Wildau, Prof. Sonntag, Internationales Verkehrswesen (66)
1.a) e.g. Germany: road traffic volumes massively outperform rail cargo without measurable traffic relocation, we ll head towards massive gridlocks Road vs. rail cargo volume in Germany cargo transport volume [bn tkm] road rail cargo data: 2012 Statistisches Bundesamt, Germany CargoBeamer year
1.a) Semi trailers dominate highways in Europe but as of today they hardly use rail road: semi trailer vs. other trucks 100% = 440 bn. tkm semi trailers: road/rail usage 100% = 324 bn. tkm other trucks semi trailer 318 bn. tkm... on rail: 6 bn. tkm (1,8%)... on road: 318 bn. tkm (98,2%) data: 2012 Statistisches Bundesamt, Germany Analysis: Universität Berlin/Wildau, Prof. Sonntag publication: Internationales Verkehrswesen (66) Fotos: CargoBeamer / pixelio 2016 CargoBeamer

AGENDA 1. Description of the business model a) Macro economic background and market potential b) Introduction of CargoBeamer technology and further innovation c) Details on the environmental impact of CargoBeamer technology d) Corporate governance e) CargoBeamer potential in China CargoBeamer
1.b) CargoBeamer is an innovation which eliminates current growth barriers for environmentally friendly rail/road transports rail transports for all semi trailers compact and efficient terminals automated processes low cost, high throughput re use of many abandoned industrial rail tracks high benefits for society Each train set reduces external cost by 3,6 Mio. p.a. no road wear, accidents, bottlenecks energy consumption reduced by 70% emissions reduced by 76% CargoBeamer
1.b) CargoBeamer is compatible to 100% of semi trailers, providing a maximum of flexibility for end customers and operators CargoBeamer technology incorporates a universal semi trailer loading palette. All road semi trailers fit onto these palettes at once, without any modifications. CargoBeamer thus removes incompatibility between rail wagons and road semi trailers. and road meets rail. Foto: CargoBeamer Foto: CargoBeamer Foto: CargoBeamer CargoBeamer
1.b) Automated CargoBeamer terminals increase speed and reduce cost Compact size 1/4 of container crane terminals Low investments 1/2 of container crane terminals Usable for all semi trailers not only for container transports Full automation maximized speed, very low operational cost. CargoBeamer compact terminals fit almost everywhere. Renaissance of industrial rail interfaces. e.g. CargoBeamer Compact3 1x12 terminal 12 GateModules 3 Loading lanes per side 280 m length 25 m width (excl. parking lane) Capacity up to loadings / year Fully automated un/loading duration 15 min per wagon group of 12 no shunting of trailers during un/loading pre storage of 3x12 = 36 semi trailers 2014 CargoBeamer CargoBeamer
1.b) CargoBeamer terminals increase capacity per investment by 250% Comparison: CargoBeamer / Conventional container terminal * Without land and additional infrastructure 2014 CargoBeamer CargoBeamer
1.b) However, in addition, CargoBeamer is compatible to existing infrastructure The CargoBeamer semi trailer palette can be lifted with container cranes (left picture ) or so called "Reach Stacker" (right picture) enabling all standard non liftable semi trailers to be transported on rail. Therefore, immediate operation in all existing conventional rail/road terminals is possible, too CargoBeamer
1.b) CargoBeamer is certified, proven and in use with 2 pilot routes across Europe 2008 Start of technology development 2012 Full certification in all EU member states 2013 Route #1: Volkswagen AG inbound logistics Volkswagen AG France southwest Germany Wolfsburg 2015 Route #2: Gotthard route Alp crossing transports Germany (Köln) Italy (Milano) 2016 Successful completion of pilot phases 2017e 2018e Route #2: Lötschberg route Expansion towards 5 6 roundtrips per week more European routes CargoBeamer
1.b) Pilot transport route #1 Inbound logistics from France / southwest Germany into Wolfsburg CargoBeamer terminal in the Volkswagen main plant in Wolfsburg The automated terminal has a capacity of 25,000 moves / year. It is operational every day since July 2013 without distortions or disruptions. Operative KPIs of transports during pilot phase Term: July 1st, 2013 until July 1st, 2016 # of transported mega trailers: 1,738 Transported volume: 24,747.1 tons (net) Transported performance: bn of net ton km Reduction of CO 2 : 338,6 tons CO 2 Operative availability of pilot terminal: 99,89% Due to the success of the pilot project, VW and CargoBeamer plan to significantly increase transport volumes. Parties are currently liasing with regards to the identification of meaningful VW main logistic routes (i.e. Bratislava Wolfsburg) with sufficient volumes relocate the VW terminal outside of the VW plant Wolfsburg and increase number of automated gate moduls upon the request of CargoBeamer, consign the relation transfer order to a major automotive logistics service provider but thereby postulating CargoBeamer rail cargo servicer Foto: Volkswagen AG CargoBeamer
1.b) Pilot transport route #2: CargoBeamer Alpin connection Germany Italy via Switzerland (Gotthard) started mid April /2016: 3 roundtrips / week 29 semi trailers per train (550m) 2017e: 5 6 roundtrips / week up to 34 semi trailers per train (680m) CB clients have strongly demanded to increase frequency of service to 5 6 roundtrips per week (i.e. daily departures). As a consequence, both the degree of capacity utilization and pricing will rise and thus, already now deliver positive profit contributions at CB s first commercially operated CB Alpin route CargoBeamer
1.b) CargoBeamer combines road & rail with unmatched flexibility and additional advantages for freight forwarders All semi trailers become compatible to rail without any modification Higher gross load weight (44 to instead of 40 to total weight) Independence from driving/pause time rules Stable transport timing & planning Increased flexibility due to tailored booking Local traffic for trucks, no long distances Significant higher productivity Local 2 or 3 shift operation No risk of congestion on highways Less wear for trucks & trailers Less insurance cost No highway toll payments Operations on sundays and public holidays For forwarding industry, CargoBeamer provides significant profitability growth without the need for additional capital investments CargoBeamer
