12 Vision 2020 Employer of Choice In fiscal 2014, over 9,000 young employees were enrolled in Siemens dual education programs that combine learning in school and learning on the job. Siemens spends over 250 million every year on continuing education for employees. The program allows some 30 young persons from other EU countries to receive a dual education in electronics or mechatronics in Germany. Siemens intends to extend the program to participants from outside the EU in the future. 144,000 employees are also Siemens shareholders. Page 12

The total order volume is more than 1.7 billion. Siemens will provide network control technology to the transmission grid operators Amprion and 50 Hertz. The technology will help to integrate the growing number of renewable energy sources, among other things. More than half of the power plants connected to Germany s power grid use Siemens turbines and generators. About 1 percent of jobs in Germany are directly or indirectly linked to Siemens. South Africa: Siemens will provide 157 wind turbines for three projects in the Northern Cape province. Egypt: Siemens will provide high-efficiency power plants and wind power installations for Egypt with a total power generation capacity of 16.4 gigawatts.
