4 Master s Degree in Dental Education Online Sessions January March, 2015 Program Details The Master s Degree in Dental Education is a 32 academic credit program that combines convenient online learning modules with intensive onsite sessions that encourage in-depth discussions, collaboration, and networking. The first six academic credits are earned online between January and mid- March. Upon completion of these credits, you will receive a Certificate in Dental Education from the. After this, you will participate in three onsite sessions and continue with self-paced capstone project work between late-march and December. 5 Certificate in Dental Education Option Certificate Option Choosing to complete only the initial 6 academic credits earns you the Certificate in Dental Education. The curriculum is taught entirely online in January March of each year and includes the following topics: Creating a philosophy of teaching Instructional design and development Accountability in predoctoral and postdoctoral dental education Academic portfolio design and creation Those who select this option can register for the Master s Degree in Dental Education program within seven years in order to complete the Master s curriculum. Prerequisites for the Certificate in Dental Education: Completion of the ADEA/AAL Institute for Teaching and Learning in any year since 2006 Registration for the Master s Degree in Dental Education on AAL s website. Registration must be received by October 17, Acceptance into the, Benerd School of Education graduate program. The deadline to submit the graduate program applica tion, transcripts, and letters of recommendation is October 17, The stand-alone Certificate in Dental Education tuition is $6,500.
