2 TECNICAL PRODUCT SHEET Introduction The ecological drawn products deriving from post-consuming waste sorting of solid urban waste are composed for 85% of polyethylene and Polypropylene, while the remaining 15% is composed of other parts (paper, tissue, metal, aluminum, etc). Up to today the bigger part of this collected waste is destined to go to the dump of to be used in energy recovery. Eco Life on the contrary, entirely recycles the mixed plastic waste and transforms it in a finished product which is used in many product sectors (building industry, infrastructure, construction, furniture). Illustration of the types of materials entering the producing process The prime material used for the production of the heterogeneous drawn products is produced by Eco Life using a innovative and technological advanced process, where the plastic waste is processed in order to generate dense chips.
3 The prime material, which has been inserted in the productive preparation cycle, derives from selection operations of the dry waste parts collection and from the comparable urban wastes, both made of plastic materials: - HDPE; - LDPE; - PP; - PS; - Steel - Aluminium - Cellulose material (paper and tissue) The typical average composition of the materials in entrance is similar to the outgoing product, except for the iron metals which are automatically selected during the process, since they don t have chemical or other transformations during the production cycle. Synthetical description of the production process The production process for the production of the plastic drawn products consists of the following phases:
4 Loading plastic waste on the system Waste grinding Iron removal Densification, using mechanical rubbing ( C ) Cooling down in the rotary press Cooling down on the conveyor belt Grinding of the dense chips Continuous extrusion of drawn products Cutting of the drawn products Drawn products characteristics The technical characteristics of the recycled drawn products stand out for the mechanical resistance, the duration in time and the absence of maintenance interventions, which makes the product extremely interesting for external use where it gets most in contact with the atmospherical elements. The possible colouring is normally done in big lots with natural oxides. It is, however, possible to carry out a successive automatic application of a pellicle of any colour and with any esthetical effect ( wood effect, marble effect ecc ) The recycled plastic drawn products can be fixed with nails or wood screws. Also the workability (cutting, milling, etc.) proves to be extremely easy and efficient with tools adapted to wood working. The drawn product has the following characteristics: Non - toxic Easy workability Resistance to the atmospherical elements Colour constancy throughout time High resistance to saline mist Unassailableness of bacteria, mushrooms and moulds Resistance to compression High electrical isolation
