How do I engage Call Forwarding on my Cbeyond Business Line when I m not in the office? Remote Access to Call Forward (RACF) is set up on all phone numbers that are on your Cbeyond account however the feature must be activated prior to using Remote Access to Call Forward. RACF works just like Call Forwarding Universal (CFU). It is the same feature; it is just activated in a different way. You will still get the courtesy ring. The only difference between RACF CFU and regular CFU is that the forward to number does not need to answer, like it does when you dial *72. First time activation - Initializing RACF on the line Before you can actually use Remote Access to Call Forwarding, you have to initialize it on the line(s) you wish to forward. First time activation requires that you be physically located at the telephone line that you wish to forward. 1. Dial *98 from the telephone number that you would like to forward at some point in the future (The System will ask you to enter your PIN which is initially set to Once you enter the default PIN the system will prompt you to change it. The system will confirm that is has been successfully re-set. Your line is now ready for Remote Access to Call Forwarding. PINs can be 4-25 digits in length. - How to Use Remote Access to Call Forward 1. Dial the local access number for the city your business is located in: - Atlanta: (678) Chicago: (312) Dallas: (469) Ft. Worth: (817) Denver: (303) Houston: (713) Los Angeles: (213) San Diego: (619) The system will prompt you to enter the phone number that you want to forward. 3. The system will then prompt you for the PIN number that you used when you initialized the line. 4. The system will then prompt you to enter the phone number that you wish to forward calls to. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST ALWAYS ENTER THE AREA CODE AND NUMBER. IF YOU WISH TO FORWARD CALLS TO A LONG DISTANCE NUMBER YOU MUST ENTER A 1 PRIOR TO THE AREA CODE AND NUMBER. The terminating number must be a domestic number. Cbeyond does not support call forwarding to
international locations. 5. The system will ask you to confirm all entries and then inform you that the line has been forwarded. How to Remove Remote Access to Call Forward 1. Dial the local access number for the city your business is located in: - Atlanta: (678) Chicago: (312) Dallas: (469) Ft. Worth: (817) Denver: (303) Houston: (713) Los Angeles: (213) The system will prompt you to enter the phone number that you want to forward/remove forwarding from. 3. The system will then prompt you for the PIN number that you used when you initialized the line. 4. The system will tell you that your line is currently forwarded and provide the number you have it forwarded to. 5. Follow the prompt (enter 2 ) to "stop call forwarding." 6. The system will then confirm that calls are no longer being forwarded Note: If you forward calls to any number outside your local calling area, you will be charged for any calls forwarded from your number to the distant number.

Secure VPN: What are the different Cbeyond Secure VPN products and how do I set them up? Answer Cbeyond offers several VPN solutions as an add-on to your basic services. For more information on these solutions follow the appropriate link below: Secure VPN On-Net (for connecting multiple Cbeyond Accounts) Secure VPN Off-Net (for connecting a remote, non-cbeyond site to your existing Cbeyond VPN) Secure VPN Remote User (for connecting individual remote users to your Cbeyond VPN) Contact Customer Support for more details on any of these products. GENERAL NOTES: Virtual tunnels connecting users or locations, with both endpoints on Cbeyond's network, will enjoy higher quality connections, since the tunnel completely operates on Cbeyond's private IP backbone. Virtual tunnels which terminate off of Cbeyond's network will traverse the public Internet. Many customers can also support virtual tunnels -- either to branch locations, or from remote Internet users -- by hosting a commercially-available VPN server on their LAN. Customers will need a LAN vendor or an internal staffperson to purchase, install, and support a LANbased VPN server. Secure VPN On-Net SecureVPN On-Net connects multiple sites that are served by Cbeyond by creating a secure network for sharing files and data. Every on-network site connected to the VPN will be able to see the resources of the other connected sites, just as though they were wired to a single physical network. The VPN is completely private and does not use the public Internet for office-to-office data transfer, so your data is secure. SecureVPN On-Net is not a service for terminating remote access VPN traffic from the Internet. To connect off-network office locations or to access your SecureVPN from home, you may subscribe to Cbeyond s SecureVPN Off-Net or SecureVPN Remote User, or may host a LAN-based VPN server. CLICK HERE for detailed setup instructions. Secure VPN Off-Net Cbeyond s SecureVPN Off-Net solution provides site-to-site connections between Cbeyond-serviced sites and remote office locations not served by Cbeyond by creating static IPSEC tunnels to securely carry data over the public Internet. Communication points between one or more Cbeyond sites and remote office locations are predefined using unique Source / Destination network pairs to specify which IP network within the Cbeyond VPN can communicate with IP networks at the remote office. Unlike Cbeyond s SecureVPN On-Net s fullymeshed configuration, SecureVPN Off-Net does not support dynamic/default network routing.
By creating predefined, protected tunnels through the public Internet using sophisticated encryption and authentication logic, information can be exchanged with remote office locations with the same security and reliability as on-network communications. CLICK HEREfor detailed setup instructions. Secure VPN Remote User What is Remote User? Remote User Setup Instructions Remote User FAQs What is Remote User? Rely on SecureVPN Remote User to equip your business with on-demand, remote access to your Cbeyond VPN over the public Internet. This remote access solution relies on Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) along with Microsoft Point-to-Point Encryption (MPPE) technology. Communication is established between one or more Cbeyond-serviced sites and each remote user through an individual s existing Internet connection (i.e., dial-up, DSL, cable modem), using unique username/password authentication to maintain privacy and security. SecureVPN is recommended for use on personal, private PCs only, as security cannot be controlled when accessing private information from public PCs. (i.e., Internet cafes, public business centers, etc.). Remote User Setup Instructions Getting Started Windows 98 Windows 2000 Windows XP Windows ME Windows Vista MAC NOTE: To get started, you ll need the following information: Username, Password, VPN Host Server Name: Atlanta: vpn.atl0.cbeyond.net Chicago: vpn.chi0.cbeyond.net Dallas: vpn.dal0.cbeyond.net Denver: vpn.den0.cbeyond.net Houston: vpn.hou0.cbeyond.net Los Angeles: vpn.lax0.cbeyond.net San Diego: vpn.sdg0.cbeyond.net Remote User FAQs Configuring Windows Firewall for File and Printer Sharing to be access using Cbeyond VPN. How do I access resources, folders and files while connected to Cbeyond's VPN? Will I be able to Map Network Drives while on Cbeyond's VPN? How do I setup Shared Folders to be accessed while using Cbeyond's VPN?
Cbeyond Outbound Caller ID FAQs Q: Can I have my main number display as my outbound caller ID no matter what line I dial out from? A: If you have analog lines whatever telephone number is assigned to the line you dial out from will display as the outbound number. If you have a digital phone system we can pass what your PBX sends as outbound caller id. Q: What is the limit for how long my outbound caller ID name can be? A: The limit for your outbound caller ID display is 14 characters. Q. How do I not display my Caller ID information to the people I am calling (per call basis)? A: If you wish to block your caller ID display on a per call basis, or if you have ID blocking permanently turned on and wish to send your ID information on a particular call, follow these instructions: Lift the handset and listen for dialtone Press *67 on your telephone keypad Wait for the dialtone Dial the number you want to call Caller ID block will be turned on for this call only Q.
