At its foundation iris maintained every product concentration - Minerals, FMCG, Building materials, etc. Regular on-site interaction with the customer and the understanding saw the creation of total management solutions. The entrepreneurs of M/S IRIS IMPEX are engaged in the field of export-import and have their own mines in the taluka mandvi of district Kutch with the mining capacity of 2000 mt/day. Four processing and grinding units situated in the GIDC area of taluka mandvi with the name of M/S ASHIRWAD MINECHEM. For, FMCG we have enough storage capacity. We meet every day needs for nutrition, hygiene and personal care with brands that help people feel good, look good, and get more out of life. In sanitary wares we have three production units in the taluka morbi in district Rajkot. Recently we have started our office in Nairobi with the name of IRIS IMPEX KENYA LIMITED. Operating centrally at Gandhidham (Kutch) along with a best network. We are well positioned to cater to our customer base at Korea, Dubai, Africa, Oman, Turkey,and across all over the world.

INTRODUCTION: INTRODUCTION OF PRODUCT MANUFACTURED: Bentonite as is a particular kind of clay derived from volcanic ash and consists mainly of montmorillonite with minor amount of illite, kaolinite, cristobalite and other minerals. Bentonite has strong colloidal properties and, when in contact with water, increases its volume several fold by swelling, forming a thixotropic, gelatinous substance. Main uses of Bentonite take advantage of these colloidal properties. The main characteristics of Bentonite is its decolorizing power, that is the property of the earth to absorb selectively certain pigments rather than others according to the characteristics of the product to be decolorized (acidity, oxidation degree, origin and biological state etc.) Bentonite as a filtering and decolorizing agent is used mainly in the production of mineral oils and greases, in production of vegetable oils and fats, fish oils and animal fats, in the regeneration of exhausted tube oils, in the regeneration of solvent as used in dry cleaning machines.

5 Present Supply and Demand Bentonite is widely used is manufacturing of foundries, iron ore pelletizing plants, paints, greases, oil-based drilling mud, earthing, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, detergents, and paper. All the supply for the product in India has been coming mainly from Kutch, Bhavnagar & Rajasthan. History and Current Scenario There are about 35 small to large scale industries running with the capacity of avg. 25 tons per day of finely grind bentonite. With growing use of bentonite and limited source of supply the founder of the company had seen opportunity in the sector and decided to start bentonite manufacturing unit. The company started in With five grinding machine and own mines M/s. Ashirwad Minechem are able to process 100 tons of finely processed bentonite powder per day. M/s. Ashirwad Minechem is situated at Durgapur GIDC, Mandvi, and Kutch. The entire production unit is having 70 employees with good knowledge of mechanical & electrical field. The company got ISO certificate on 15 th SEP In 2009 Taiko (TCMI) had made history by loading MT bentonite within 24 hrs. Ashirwad Minechem feels proud to be a part of this history as it was a subcontractor of TCMI with providing 7000 MT of bentonite. M/s Ashirwad Minechem is a member of Institute of Indian Foundry men since Sep In the guidance of Mr. Kunal Kapta, Mr. Himanshu Raiyani & Mrs. Dhatri Raiyani Company is growing very fast & recently it has started another export oriented unit for minerals, Chemicals, FMCG Products & Ceramic Products, in Gandhidham-Kutch. With partnership in manufacturing units of Kaolin, Talc, Salt and Ceramics, Iris Impex is ready to match any requirement in all these products. The kaolin unit is situated in GIDC Bhuj-Kutch, Talc unit is in Rajasthan, Salt unit is in Gandhidham-Kutch and Ceramic unit is in Morbi-Gujarat.

10 6) VALUE ADDED PRODUCTS OF BENTONITE (a) CAT LITTER: - Due to its advantage of absorbing refuse by forming easily removable clumps leaving the remaining product intact for further use. - It has additional advantage of absorbing bad smell. (b) AQUAGEL (PURIFIED BENTONITE): - A light colored specially formulated bentonite for excellent gelling / suspension properties in aqueous system is water based paint & coating. (c) ORGANOCLAY: - A specially manufactured polar additive bentonite for excellent suspension / thixotropic and gelling agent in solvent based system eg. Paints, coating, adhesives etc. (d) BLEACHING EARTH: - Used for color removing agent in Edible oil, Crude oil, etc. - In oil refining. - In fatty acid production.

12 8) CALCIUM CARBONATE: MAJOR USES: Besides construction, calcium carbonate is also used in other industries like paint, plastic, rubber, ceramic, cement, glass, steel, oil refining, iron ore purification and bio rock creation for Mari culture of sea organisms. It is used as a blackboard chalk and as ph correcting compound in swimming pools. Calcium carbonate is the most preferred mineral in the paper industry, used for filling and coating paper.
