Çimsa ISIDAÇ 40 Calcium Aluminate Cement Building Chemicals Applications
ISIDAÇ 40 is a Calcium Aluminate Cement that has been produced for more than 10 years by Çimsa in compliance with the TS EN standard. Owing to its superior resistance against abrasion and high heats, its unique characteristic of strength and sulphate resistance, it is a preferred product both in domestic and foreign markets. Started to be produced in 2002 in Mersin Factory, ISIDAÇ 40 keeps its feature of being a product that is preferred by numerous domestic and foreign companies. Çimsa is one of the biggest exporters and producers in this field and presently conducts the sales of ISIDAÇ 40 to more than 50 countries of the world.

High and Fast Gain of Strength ISIDAÇ 40, different from the ordinary Portland Cement, starts to gain strength at the 6th hour and reaches the final strength at the 24th hour. With the strength value and strength gain speed that are beyond ordinary Portland Cements, ISIDAÇ 40 is an indispensible product in building chemicals production. ISIDAÇ 40 Strength Gain Graph Compressive Strength Hour Controllable Setting Time When ISIDAÇ 40 is mixed with the materials with different properties (like Portland Cement and limestone) setting time shortens. With this feature, it is used in the field of building chemicals in the repair mortars and the self-leveling finish production. Mixture ISIDAÇ 40 Portland Cement ISIDAÇ 40 and Portland Cement Mixture ISIDAÇ 40 and Limestone Mixture Initial Setting (min) Final Setting (min) Resistance to High Temperatures Owing to the high alumina content, ISIDAÇ can resist up to 1300 C, whereas the Portland cement can resist relatively much lower temperatures. ISIDAÇ 40 presents an economic and essential solution with this feature for the industrial flooring that is subject to high temperature.
Acidic Resistance ISIDAÇ 40 has high acidic resistance. Portland Cements are not resistant to acidic medium due to the fact that silicates in their structures start dissolution below ph 7. ISIDAÇ 40 provides high acidic resistance due to the aluminate phases, even at very low ph values. Owing to its structure, it presents long term resistance on the floors of the olive oil pools and chicken farms. ph value Mass Loss* (%) ,5 0,1 0 Sulphate Resistance One of the superior characteristics of the calcium aluminate cements is that they have high sulphate resistance. ISIDAÇ 40 has superior sulphate resistance. Thanks to this feature, in the applications that become subject to sulphate effect such as seawater or irrigation canals, it has a sulphate resistance far beyond the Portland Cements. ISIDAÇ 40 allows sulphate resistant mortar production. Unit Elongation (MPa) 0,250 0,200 0,150 Resistance of the PÇ and ISIDAÇ 40 Cements to Sulphate Effect (ASTM C 1012) 0,100 0,050 0, hours 7 days 14 days 21 days 28 days 35 days 42 days 49 days 56 days 63 days 70 days 77 days 84 days 91 days 98 days 105 days 112 days 119 days 126 days 133 days 140 days 147 days 154 days 161 days 168 days 175 days Age (Day) CEM I 42,5 ISIDAC 40 Abrasion Resistance ISIDAÇ 40 that has high strength value, has also very high abrasion resistance compared to Portland Cement. The abrasion resistance reaches higher levels in the event that the hardness degrees of the aggregates used are selected appropriately. The recommended aggregate type is ISIDAÇ 40 clinker. ISIDAÇ 40 Portland Cement Abrasion** 17% 31% *The mass loss was calculated by keeping the concrete produced with ISIDAÇ 40 for 6 hours in the 98% H2SO4 solution in the manner ph value of which is given in the table. **The abrasion amount is the values obtained by turning the 5x5x5 cm cubes in the Los Angeles device for 500 cycles.
Low Temperature Applications During the winter months in which the production amounts drop and the tile production speed decreases, ISIDAÇ 40 provides superior results in the cold-weather applications due to the high hydration speed it has. As a result of the high heat that emerges subsequent to the commencement of the hydration, it presents successful results even in the productions realized under zero degree. Things to be Paid Attention in the Application The tools and equipments should be clean and the water should be potable In the aggregate that will be used in making mortars, there must not be free alkali. The morters made with ISIDAÇ 40 should be kept wet during their hardening periods. The granulometry of the sand and aggregate to be used should be appropriate. In the ISIDAÇ 40 based applications, the water amount should be kept at minimum. The fact that ISIDAÇ 40 would provide different reactions in different admixtures from the Portland Cement should be taken into account and the site applications must be carried out after the laboratory trials.
