4 IT Governance 7 Mandate for Senior Test Management Nets Benefits of the Test Mandate With a test Mandate that: Grants ownership of a corporate wide test framework Supports the IT s in the test domain and Allows to run governance of the s test initiatives Nets will achieve benefits by: Getting the most of the strategic value of the testing Improving test s ROI Ensuring alignment and adherence to the IT strategy and Nets corporate values 8 4
5 Governing Thought To achieve a more efficient test approach the suggestion is that the Senior Test Management team is empowered through the mandate to: Obtain ownership of the corporate wide test framework Support the IT s in the test domain Run governance of the test initiatives The Senior Test Management Mandate Obtain ownership of the corporate wide test framework Support the IT s in the test domain Run governance of the test initiatives Define and maintain Nets Test Policy and a prototype of the Master Test Strategy Describe and maintain Nets test framework and its templates Continuous test process improvement aligned with industry best practices Ensure a corporate Test Policy, aligned with Nets IT Strategy and corporate business goals Provide test consultancy to s, ITO, BU and GU. Manage test execution of governance class A & B projects Coordinate development of test competencies in Nets. Ensure that the Test Policy and the test framework get implemented and followed-up by all s* Provide consultancy to define the s Master Test Strategy Monitor changes to IT s test processes and ensure alignment with the test framework. Exceptions will be escalated to IT management * Senior test management will ask for s input to define the Master Test Strategy and the test framework 5

7 Intro to Nets Test Policy All test initiative at Nets must have a clear objective in alignment with the particular programme/project drivers. Nets testing foremost focus is to provide business benefits to every IT initiative and stability in the systems. Test metrics is a way to describe the status of the software, not a goal in itself We will continue to follow the ISTQB scheme in education and vocabulary 13 Intro to Nets Test Policy Risk based testing - All test effort should be prioritized according to criticality, impact on business and complexity. Early testing - Test should be performed at the earliest stage possible and used as a pointer to requirement delivery and quality up front. Test automation should be considered up front for all development and is mandatory in iterative development processes. Automation is also considered an effort to reduce development time There must be defined acceptance criteria in all test levels for all external projects The test process is aligned to Nets project model and preferred development framework Integrated test in lean and agile development methodologies Provide metrics and traceability to prove that business goals are met 14 7
