3 PROJECT ONLINE LICENSING Project cloud-based solutions are licensed on a per-user basis. You can purchase them as standalone plans or as an additional service with Office 365 plans. 1. Project Online with Project Pro for Office 365 is a flexible online solution for project portfolio management (PPM) and everyday work. It includes Project Online and Project Pro for Office Project Online enables organizations to get started, prioritize project portfolio investments and deliver the intended business value from virtually anywhere. 3. Project Pro for Office 365 gives you the control and capabilities of Project Professional 2013 as an always up-to-date subscription from Office 365. HOW TO CHECK PROJECT ONLINE LICENSES Check Total Number of Licenses for the Subscription 1. Log on to Project Online Tenant 2. Click on Admin >> Office Click on Licensing on the left navigation bar 4. This page displays the total number of licenses available for your subscriptions 3 P age

5 PERMISSION MODE Each instance of Project Web App can use either Project Server permission mode or SharePoint permission mode to control user access. Project Server 2013 offers two security modes for controlling the kind of access that users have to sites and projects: SharePoint permission mode: In this mode, which is new in Project Server 2013, a special set of SharePoint security groups are created in sites associated with Project Server These groups are used to grant users varying levels of access to projects and Project Server functionality. SharePoint permission mode is new for Project Server Project Server permission mode: In this mode, Project Server provides a set of customizable security groups and other functionality that is distinct from SharePoint groups. This is the same security mode that was available in Project Server The following table illustrates the features available in each security mode. 6 Security filtering using the Resource Breakdown Structure Custom Security Categories HOW TO CHANGE THE PERMISSION MODE 1. Logon to Project Server 2. Click on Admin >> SharePoint 3. Select the site 4. Click on Project Web APP from the ribbon and select Settings 5. Select between SharePoint Vs. Project Server permission mode 6 P age

7 HOW TO ADD USERS IN SHAREPOINT PERMISSION MODE It consists of two steps 1. Add user to Office Associate user to Project Online Tenant Add user to Office Log on to Project Online Tenant 2. Click on Admin >> Office Click on users and groups from left navigation bar 7 P age

8 4. Click on + button to add new user 5. Enter the User details and click on next 6. On the Settings Page a. Specify whether you want this user to have administrator permission for Admin Center for your tenant. b. Set the User Location and click on Next 8 P age

10 On the next page, assign the appropriate Licenses to the user and click on Next 7. On the next page, a. Select the checkbox if you would like to send the new user details over the . You can send it to maximum five people. Enter the addresses separated by semicolons. b. Click on Create 10 P age

11 8. The New user account and temporary password will be shows the final page. Click on finish. Associate user to Project Online Tenant 1. Log on to Project Online 2. Select Resource link from the left Navigation Bar 3. Click on New button on Resources ribbon 4. Select Associate resource with a user account and then enter the user logon account 11 P age

12 5. Specify the other attributes like Timesheet Manager, Assignment Owner etc. and click on Save 6. After this, click on Share button on the top navigation bar 12 P age

13 7. Enter the Account Name in Invite People to contribute section and Click on Show Options 8. Select the PWA group into which you would like to add this user and click on Share 13 P age

15 HOW TO ADD USER IN PROJECT SERVER PERMISSION MODE Add User to Office 365: Use the same steps given earlier to add user to office 365 Add user to Project Server Instance 1. Logon to Project Server 2. Click on Gear button >> Select PWA Settings 3. Click on Manage User >> New User 4. Enter the User Account login and other attributes like Timesheet Manager, Assignment Owner etc. 5. Add user into appropriate security group 6. Click on Save. 15 P age

16 HOW TO REMOVE USER Inactivate the resource in PWA 1. Open Project Online site 2. Click on Resources in left navigation link 3. Select the Resource and click on Edit 4. Set the Account Status to Inactive Delete the Office 365 account 1. Open Project Online site 2. Click on Admin >> Office Click on users and groups in left navigation pane 4.
