2 Articulation Agreement Between and West Chester University of Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences' Department of Health Associate in Applied Science in Emergency Management and Planning to Bachelor of Science in Public/Environmental Health (DCCC) and West Chester University of Pennsylvania (WCU) Department of Health enter into this articulation agreement to assist DCCC Associate in Applied Science Emergency Management and Planning gtaduates with Fire Science, Municipal Police Officer, and Emergency Medical Technician concentrations with transferring into the Bachelor of Science in Public/Environmental Health Degree at WCU. The Bachelor of Science in Public/Environmental Health Degree at WCU requires the completion of 120 credits, at least 0 of which must be eamed at WCU. Therefore, a maximum of 90 credits may be transferred from DCCC to WCU. Towards this maximum:. Up to 5 credits may transfer from DCCC's Associate in Applied Science in Emergency Management and Planning degree as per Table 1. An additional 19 credits from the DCCC degree may also transfer; however; these may only be credited as excess free electives.. i2 additional General Education credits may be transferred as per Table 2.. Up to 2 additional required Cognate and Environmental Health Course credits for the Bachelor of Science in Public/ Environmental Health Degree at WCU (beyond those required for the AAS degree at DCCC) may be fulfilled at DCCC and accepted by WCU, as noted in Table. This agreement specifies major courses required for the Bachelor of Science in Public,4Environmental Health De$ee which must be completed at WCU. In order to qualify for the benefits of this agreement, students must: r Graduate from DCCC with the Associate in Applied Science in Emergency Management and Planning degree with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50 o "D" grades are accepted for transfer if the credit is for courses within the framework of General Education Requirements or free electives, provided the transferred course does not satisfy a major field requirement as well. Satisfy all other West Chester University admissions requirements DCCC students who transfer with an Associate in Applied Science in Emergency Management and Planning will receive transfer credit for up to 55 credits, but only 4-5 credits (marked with an Asterisk* within Tabie I) satisfy WCU's General Education and/or degree requirements. Others transfer as excess free electives (19 credits). Page 1of 6

3 MUTUAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS a. Term of A$eement. The term of this Agreement shall be five (5) years from the date of execution. This Agreement shall be renewed every five (5) years. b. Termination of Agreement. WCU or DCCC may terminate this Agreement for any reason with ninety (90) days notice. Either party may terminate this A$eement in the event of a substantial breach. Should WCU or DCCC terminate this A$eement prior to the oompletion of an academic semester, all students enrolled at that time may continue their educational experience until it would have been concluded absent the termination. c. Nondiscrimination. The parties agree to continue their respective policies of nondiscrimination based on Title VI ofthe Civil Rights Act of 1964 in regard to sex, age, race, color, creed, and national origin, Title D( of the Education Amendments of 1972 and other applicable laws, as well as the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act. d. Interpretation of the Agreement. The laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania shall govem this Agreement. e. Modification of Agreement. This Agreernent shall only be modihed in writing with the same formality as the original Agreement. f. Relationship of Parties. The relationship between the parties to this Agreement to each other is that of independent contractors. The relationship ofthe parties to this conhact to each other shall not be construed to constitute a partnership, joint venture or any other relationship, other than that of independent contractors. g. Liability. Neither of the parties shall assume any liabilities to each other. As to liability to each other or death to persons, or damages to property, the parties do not waive any defense as a result of entering into this contract. This provision shall not be construed to limit the Commonwealth's rights, claims or defenses which arise as a matter of law pursuant to any provisions of this contract. This provision shall not be construed to limit the sovereign immunity of the Commonwealth or of the State System of Higher Education or WCU. h. Entire Agreement. This Agreement represents the entire understanding between the parties. No other prior or contemporaneous oral or written understandings or promises exist in regards to this relationship. This articulation agreement covers only the programs defined by the attached course-to-course transfer guide. DCCC and WCU agree to review this agreement annually by November 15th and to apprise each other ofany changes to the respective programs that may necessitate a modification of this agreement DCCC students who wish to take advantage of this articulation agreement must satisfy all of the DCCC Associate in Applied Science in Emergency Management and Planning degree requirements and WCU admission requirements prior to enrollment in WCU's Bachelor of Science in Public/Environmental Health Degree. There is a 4S-credit transfer limit for West Chester's General Education Requirements.
