2 Introduction The Rotary laser level is a laser instrument for distance measuring of horizontal and vertical lines. The laser device widely serves for plane measuring in the field of construction engineering and interior decoration. Levelling Set the rotary laser level on any smooth surface or mount to the 5/8" x 11" tripod Use the levelling screws and level vials to level the instrument. Each levelling screw controls the vial opposite the screw (the front levelling screw controls the Y axis, and the side levelling screw controls the X axis.) Turn power on and press the control button until you reach your desired speed. Mark the desired position 2. Plumbing On a flat surface, place the rotary laser level on its back using the built-in trivet (control button) facing upward. Level the instrument by viewing the plumb vial and turning the Y levelling screw until the plumb vial is centred Switch the laser on Mark the desired position

3 1. Stopping the rotary head It is possible to stop the rotation of the head and manually direct the laser beam towards your target. Align the laser beam to your target by turning the head manually. Checking horizontal rotation error Mount and level the rotary laser level on the tripod and place approximately 33 ft (10 m) away from a wall. Face the front (control button) to the wall. Turn power on and place the unit in stop mode. Manually rotate the laser beam onto the wall and mark as point A. Loosen the rotary laser level from the tripod and rotate the instrument 180 degrees so that the back (battery side) now faces the wall. Secure and re-level the instrument Again rotate the laser beam onto the wall and mark its position as point B. No adjustment is necessary if the vertical difference between points A and B is 1/8" (3 mm) or less. Otherwise, adjust as follows.

4 2. Correcting the horizontal rotation error Adjust the Y levelling screw until the laser beam rests midway between points A and B. This will cause the Y vial bubble to shift from the centre. Clockwise rotation will raise the beam; counterclockwise rotation will lower the beam. Centre the Y vial bubble by adjusting the vial levelling screws with a 1/32" hex wrench. Recheck the accuracy of horizontal rotation by repeating the 6 steps in section 1. Readjust as necessary. Repeat the above checking and adjusting procedures using the left and right sides of instrument, adjusting the X levelling screw and X vial as necessary. 3. Checking the vertical rotation error Set the instrument on its trivet (control button upward) on a floor approximately 49 ft (15 m) from the base of a wall. The right side of the instrument should face the wall. Level the unit by adjusting the Y levelling screw. Turn power on and place the unit in stop mode. Mark a control point A on the wall. Turn the rotary head manually until the laser beam hits point A on the wall. Turn the rotary head to move the laser beam 15 ft (4.5 m) and mark this as point B. Turn the instrument 180 degrees and align the beam to point A, re-levelling if necessary. Turn the rotary head to move the laser beam to the same height as point B and mark as point C. No adjustment is necessary if the difference between points B and C is 2 mm or less. Otherwise, adjust as follows. 4. Correcting the vertical rotation error Adjust the Y levelling screw until the laser beam rests midway between points B and C. This will cause the plumb vial bubble to shift from centre. Centre the plumb vial bubble by adjusting the vial levelling screws with a 1/32" hex wrench. Recheck the accuracy of vertical rotation by repeating the 6 steps in section 3.
