3 The Vice President of Academic Affairs and Workforce Development will contribute to the work of the college and the president s administrative team by... Providing inspired educational leadership for the college and the faculty, ensuring that all of the college s educational endeavors serve the college s mission, reflect the college s values, and are effective in helping the college attain its three strategic goals of Productivity, Equity, and Quality. Establishing and maintaining a culture of high academic standards, intellectual inquiry, and a collaborative commitment to our students success, leading our faculty and staff in the development and adoption of effective and innovative educational strategies, methodologies, and practices, including: ilearn, intentional advising, open source educational resources, competency-based learning, contextual instruction, and other means for providing our students with effective access to completion. Serving as Chief Academic Officer, responsible for the planning, development, supervision and evaluation of five major instructional divisions of the college plus other academic departments and centers, ensuring that the educational offerings of the college effectively respond to the current and anticipated needs and interests of the district. Administering college policies and procedures and management of human, physical, and fiscal resources as they support the instructional programs of the college. Overseeing operating and capital budgets for Academic Affairs in communication with the Budget Team, the Board of Education, College Council and appropriate staff. Providing inspired leadership of all our critical educational partnerships, including but not limited to: business partnerships (especially with CTE), high school partnerships, 4-year degree partnerships (especially with OSU), and articulation and transfer agreements. Working collaboratively with faculty and instructional managers to ensure an understanding of and constructive adherence to the agreement between the Faculty Association and the college. Promoting ongoing awareness of employee agreements, board policies, administrative rules and practices. Serving as accreditation liaison with the Northwest Commission for Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), providing leadership for the accreditation and other continuous improvement activities of the college.

4 Application Procedure Minimum Qualifications A Doctorate in Education, Higher Education Administration, or other academic field germane to educational offerings at LBCC, including training in curriculum design, instructional delivery and the elements of effective teaching and learning. Substantial completion of a doctorate with assurance that such a degree will be completed within a reasonable amount of time may be accepted in lieu of the degree requirement. A minimum of 4 years of successful educational administration and leadership built on a solid record of teaching or related instructional experience. Successful administrative or educational leadership at a community college is strongly preferred. A truly exceptional combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the above Education and Experience qualifications. Salary Range The salary range is $107,385 to $150,636 plus benefits. Starting salaries for new management employees are generally within the middle of the range. More than half of the local college-bound high school graduates come directly to LBCC after graduation. The average age of our full-time students is 25. Forty-one percent of the total student body is male and 59 percent is female. Ethnic minority students comprise 15 percent of college enrollments. There are 1,096 employees, with more than half being part-time noncontracted.
