1 Here s how it goes: WELCOME TO THE CHALLENGE: Sponsored by Great Rivers Greenway & St. Louis County Parks The challenge runs from September 1st November 30th. Participants must complete the challenge and turn your work in by November 30th. After page 2 you will see the 9 trails included in the challenge. Each trail page consists of a map, trail name, distance, orange paper punches you must find, and questions to be answered. Use the appropriate paper punch on each trail page; all punches are different shapes. Hint: 30/30 Punches are on a small sign that is usually near a trailhead Hike-It, Bike-It Punches are on a larger sign usually farther on the trail. Punch is on back of post. Trails range from easy to difficult. Longer trails may be hiked/biked all at once or broken down into sections. Work at your own pace according to your abilities and by all means think safety 1st! You must hike and/or bike all challenge trails, complete orange punches, answer questions and be scored in person by the deadline in order to be eligible for prizes. 1st 200 to correctly complete the challenge will get a t-shirt. 2 This part of the challenge can be completed in addition to the Hike-It, Bike-It portion. If you correctly complete all of the waterways in our Paddle-It Challenge, you will be entered into a separate drawing for additional prizes. Paddle-It Info: Use your own boat/kayak or sign-up for one of the St. Louis County Park programs we offer. Waterways included are: Simpson Lake, Creve Coeur Lake, Meramec River from Route 66 State Park to Castlewood State Park Maps and locations are in your packet. St. Louis County canoes will be available on the following dates and locations: Simpson Park October 7, Main parking area (5pm, 6pm, 7pm) Paddle-It Float Creve Coeur September 16, Tremayne Shelter (7pm & 8:30 pm) Full Moon Paddle $15/canoe $25/canoe Meramec River October 13 & 15 (meet 8am and float until 5pm) Fall Color Float Meet at Castlewood State Park Boat Ramp $40/canoe Registration and fees are required for the use of County Park equipment and programs.
