Mode of operation In the event that an HV HRC fuse-link has tripped, the switch is tripped via an articulation which is integrated into the cover of the fuse box (see figure). In the event that the fuse tripping fails, e.g. if the fuse has been inserted increctly, the fuse box is protected by thermal protection. The overpressure generated by overheating trips the switch via the diaphragm in the cover of the fuse box and via an articulation. This breaks the current befe the fuse box incurs irreparable damage. This thermal protection wks independently of the type and design of the HV HRC fuse used. Like the fuse itself, it is maintenance-free and independent of any outside climatic effects. Furtherme, the SIBA HV HRC fuses release the striker depending on the temperature and trip the three-position switch-disconnect as early as in the fuse overload range. Impermissible heating of the fuse box can be avoided in this way. In three-phase systems with resonance-earthed isolated neutral, under double earth fault and other conditions, the full phase-to-phase voltage may be available at the HV HRC fuse during breaking. Depending on the size of the operating voltage of such a system, this applied voltage may then exceed 87 % of the rated voltage. It must therefe already be ensured during configuration of the switching devices and selection of the HV HRC fuse that only such fuse-links are used, which either satisfy the above operating conditions, whose breaking capacity was tested at least with the maximum system voltage. In case of doubt, a suitable HV HRC fuse must be selected together with the fuse manufacturer. 69 Standards Standards, specifications, guidelines Type of service location The switchgear can be used as indo installation accding to 696 (Power installations exceeding kv AC) and VDE 00 Outside lockable electrical service locations at places which are not accessible to the public. Enclosures of switchgear can only be removed with tools In lockable electrical service locations. A lockable electrical service location is a place outdos indos that is reserved exclusively f housing electrical equipment and which is kept under lock and key. Access is restricted to authized personnel and persons who have been properly instructed in electrical engineering. Untrained unskilled persons may only enter under the supervision of authized personnel properly instructed persons. Terms Make-proof earthing switches are earthing switches with sht-circuit making capacity accding to 67-0 and VDE / EN Dielectric strength The dielectric strength is verified by testing the switchgear with rated values of sht-duration power-frequency withstand voltage and lightning impulse withstand voltage accding to 67- / VDE 067- (see table Dielectric strength ). The rated values are referred to sea level and to nmal atmospheric conditions (0 hpa, 0 C, g/m humidity accding to 6007 and VDE 0). The gas insulation at a relative gas pressure of 50 kpa permits switchgear installation at any desired altitude above sea level without the dielectric strength being adversely affected. This also applies to the cable connection when plug-in sealing ends are used. A decrease (reduction) of the dielectric strength with increasing site altitude must only be considered f panels with HV HRC fuses. F site altitudes above 0 m, a higher insulation level must be selected. It results from the multiplication of the rated insulation level f 0 to 0 m with the altitude crection fact K a (see illustration and example). Standards NXPLUS C switchgear complies with the relevant standards and specifications applicable at the time of type tests. In accdance with the harmonization agreement reached by the countries of the European Union, their national specifications confm to the standard.
