1 Roles and Responsibilities Chart ECE Internship for Online Sections This chart outlines roles and responsibilities of students, cooperating teachers, and course instructors. Partnership between course instructors and cooperating teachers will provide rich learning experiences and support the professional development of pre-service teachers. Weeks Student s Responsibility Cooperating Teacher s (CT) Responsibility Before Week 1 -Fill out Internship Request Form: Fall ship forms must be submitted by November 15 th ; Spring Internship forms by April 15 th. -Complete health and safety requirements -Meet with CT and create lab schedule -Review lab information in ECE Internship Manual Week 1 -Ensure return of U of P to Instructor -Return completed U of P to -Labs begin Instructor via -Create a Cooperating Teacher Folder -Review the TSS manual and the (hard copy); store it for easy access by Curriculum Framework self and the cooperating teacher -Welcome the lab student: -Complete assignment for Lab 1: Introduce the children Lab schedule Introduce the teachers / staff Daily schedule of lab classroom Introduce the program Environment observation Time sheet Lab Attendance Verification Form -Sign Journal Course Instructor s/ece Department s Responsibility -Instructor receives CT information from ECE department -Instructor sends CT via Letter from ECE Department Understanding of Participation (U of P) form -Instructor sends the syllabus to students -Send CT Folder to CT via which includes: Initial letter from Instructor Summary of Lab Assignments Roles and Responsibilities Chart Lab Attendance Verification Form Lab Student Observation Log Links for Teaching Skills and Strategies (TSS) Manual and the Curriculum Framework -Send assignments for Labs 1-15 to CT Week 2 -Complete assignment for Lab 2: Select Child Assessment Child (CAC) Send Video / Photo Release Form Send Family Interview Curriculum Goals of lab classroom -Assist in CAC selection -Approve LEP for Lab 3 -Conduct weekly meeting with -Sign
