2 BLOOMBERG INSTITUTE Bloomberg Institute is the educational branch of Bloomberg LP. The Institute has leveraged Bloomberg s expertise in financial information and contacts in the finance industry to develop a test aimed at helping students and recent alumni connect with financial employers worldwide. BLOOMBERG APTITUDE TEST The Bloomberg Aptitude Test (BAT) is a global, standardized online test that has been developed in partnership with premier financial institutions and university faculties around the world. The BAT covers a range of subjects that assesses a student s aptitude for a career in finance and business. Students who take the BAT uncover their strengths on various subjects and gain insight into which areas of finance may suit them best. After taking the BAT, students are entered into the Bloomberg Institute Talent Search, a tool being used by employers to identify candidates for entry level roles in finance. The Talent Search is also available on the Bloomberg Professional Service, where over 20,000 financial companies have free access to view student profiles on an anonymous basis, and may elect to contact them with testing profiles complementary to their available career opportunities. The BAT is a great way for your students to not only test their current abilities, but also to define themselves as valued candidates to employers. Launched in 2011, the Bloomberg Aptitude Test has been taken by over 110,000 students from universities distributed around 63 countries.

3 VALUE PROPOSITION EMPLOYERS The BAT will help employers screen their overwhelming number of entry-level applicants more efficiently, consistently and objectively and will help promote fairness, diversity and meritocracy. Employers will also be able to reach talented candidates outside their traditional recruiting channels. STUDENTS The BAT serves as a learning tool for students, providing insight into financial career opportunities and individual strengths and weaknesses. Students receive valuable feedback on their BAT scores which can be used to promote individual strengths in interviews and on CVs. The BAT allows students to view their abilities in comparison to the global median of test takers, thereby providing insight as to where they rank in comparison to the global talent pool against whom they will be competing for jobs. This information serves useful for identifying areas of study where one may want to improve and helps students to better focus their efforts. The BAT a l s o helps students to demonstrate to financial employers that they are strong candidates for recruitment via the Bloomberg Institute Talent Search. UNIVERSITIES The BAT is a great way for universities to demonstrate the quality of their students, assess/improve their own finance curriculum and facilitates student placements with financial firms. Employers using the Talent Search look for the strongest candidates and most capable students from universities around the world. PROFESSORS The BAT provides a great way to bring practical training into the classroom. The BAT places students into different scenarios encountered in the workplace and asks them to make decisions as if they were on the job. Professors may test students by course, year of study (all levels of undergraduate and graduate degrees) and can have access to detailed reports of their students completely free of charge in order to see their improvement over time. Offering the BAT to your students will help them to be more marketable to employers thereby giving them the chance to be contacted for career opportunities.

MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS emphasizing the real life, practical application of knowledge. All test questions and answers are written in English. There is currently no fee for students to take the BAT or to make their scores accessible to employers. 5 SAMPLE STUDENT RESULTS Registered users (e.g. employers, universities, etc.) may use the Bloomberg Institute Talent Search to find candidates for entry level full time and internship opportunities. The Talent Search is designed to match student strengths with employer needs in order to provide the best fit candidates for the role.

HOST A TEST SESSION Universities may host test sessions for their students on campus free of charge. Universities can organize as many sessions as they wish, choosing their preferred dates and starting hours. On average universities host 4-6 test sessions per term. In order to arrange a test session on campus you must have the following: COMPUTER ROOM with fifteen or more computers. Please book a room for three hours for each test session. Computers only need internet access (preferably Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari). No further technology is required. If you do not have a computer lab with 15 computers or more, please contact the representative listed below. STUDENTS to take the BAT - we will send you marketing materials to encourage student participation. We will provide you regular updates on the number of students registered for your sessions. PAPER for students to work through test problems. Please make sure you provide scratch paper for the students. INVIGILATOR ACCESS Bloomberg Institute will provide an invigilator to administer the test. This person will need internet access in order to check students into the session. There must be a minimum of fifteen students attending the session in order for an invigilator to be provided by Bloomberg Institute. If you would like to provide your own invigilator we will train this person. HOW TO HOST A BAT SESSIONS ON CAMPUS Step 1: Decide on best times in the year to run sessions & frequency of sessions Step 2: Book IT room with internet access for 3 hours Step 3: Send confirmed session dates, times and locations to mmitchell35@bloomberg.com Step 4: Receive marketing materials from Bloomberg (Posters, Flyers, er) Step 5: Send out marketing materials to promote session to students Step 6: Students register via and Bloomberg manages registrations
