Congratulations on supporting a corporate philanthropic program in your workplace! There are many unique opportunities for your company, employees and your brands to participate in meaningful ways to support Make-A-Wish. By planning your own fundraising event, such as a company picnic, golf tournament or casual Friday, you can have fun and make a difference in the lives of our courageous wish kids. Holding your own fundraising event is a great way to achieve your philanthropic goals, build team spirit, build brand affinity with your customers, and raise awareness for Make-A-Wish. As a support to the event you choose to run, your company can raise funds online by creating your own web pages on our secure, pledge-based website. You can send s, upload photos, invite people to join your event, and more. Here are just a few examples of how you can get involved. Employee Fundraising Ideas Casual Dress Down Day Ever feel like wearing jeans to work? Pay to wear casual clothes for a day. Baby Picture Contest Hold a contest to identify your fellow employees using their baby pictures. Try to include pictures from a wide group of employees or consider gathering baby pictures of the senior management team. Sell chances to guess which baby is which! Unwanted Gift Sale After the holidays we all have gifts we might not like/need why don t you hold an office Garage Sale and donate proceeds to Make-A-Wish. Bonus Vacation Day Hold this raffle, sell raffle tickets for $10 and the prize is an extra day off work. Free Parking Sell chances for free parking in the President s spot for one week.

Employee Fundraising Ideas Continued Free Lunch Raffle free lunch coupons for a week at the employee cafeteria. Treasure Hunt Plan a treasure hunt, after hiding an inexpensive prize with hints hidden at various places throughout the office and charge an entry fee; who finds the treasure gets the prize. Bingo Organize bingo games once a week. For a $5 donation, each person can go for four rounds. The more rounds bought, the better the chances are for winning a prize. Movie and Popcorn On Fridays during the campaign weeks, sell a movie pass which includes a movie to be viewed in the conference room on a large projector or plasma TV and a bag of popcorn. Showing starts late in the afternoon towards closing time so as not to disrupt work. Hot Breakfast Sale Sell hot breakfast once a week until the completion of the campaign. The organizers bring in "raw materials" and then cook breakfast in the kitchen or break room. Create a menu for your "Hot Breakfast Sale", like pan cakes, waffles, sausages, breakfast burrito, etc. Pink Ballerina Hippo Costume Fundraising Contest Each department competes and raises money to vote on whom they would choose wearing the Pink Ballerina Hippo Costume (or another costume office decides upon). Each department head and section managers' names are put in the ballot. Employees will then vote who they would like to see wear the costume. Even the candidates can wager high and vote for their opponents so that they can avoid wearing the costume. Whoever has the most votes will "win". Office massages Contact a local massage therapist and ask if they would donate their time, either for free or a discounted rate, to provide massages to employees at the office. Employees purchase the in-office massages and the profits go to Make-A-Wish.

Employee Sales Homemade Baked Goods Every Friday a different department or team brings in homemade baked goods to sell at lunch. Craft Sale Does anyone at your company knit, sew, paint, do woodwork, or make holiday ornaments? Tap the creative talents of your fellow workers for a pre-holiday craft show and sale. Employee Cookbook The favorite recipe of each employee is compiled into a cookbook. Sell to friends and co-workers. Covered Dish Lunch Day One department or team prepares lunch for the entire office and charges for each lunch. Consider salads or deli trays as well. Sports Activities Golf or Tennis Outing/Tournament Arrange for a group outing or tournament at a golf course or tennis court. Charge a fee over the price per player to participate and donate the amount. Fitness Challenge Charge an entry fee to participate in a day of fun filed events. Form teams, collect pledges from friends and family and compete against each other in events such as an obstacle course, sack race and tug-ofwar contest. Bowl-A-Thon/Yoga-A-Thon/Dance-A-Thon/Spin-A-Thon Tailor this event to fit your company s needs!

Auctions Secure donated items through solicitations. This can be done in person, by phone or through the mail. We will provide you with a letter to use to announce your fund raiser and ask for support. Auction items don t have to be expensive to be compelling. For example: auction off an executive doing the winner's job for one hour, have staff members prepare delicious lunches to be auctioned off to co-workers, raffle a day off of work. Silent Auction Display all the donated items attractively and consider placing a minimum or starting bid for each item. Next to each item, place a bid sheet where those interested in that particular item can write their name and the amount they are willing to pay. At the designated closing time for all bids, the person who has made the highest bid for any particular item pays that amount and wins the item. On Line Auction Collect exciting, unique or coveted prizes and host an on-line auction for Make-A-Wish. Ticket Auction Display all donated items, placing an empty container or basket next to each item. Sell tickets for a set price and ask the buyer to write his or her name on each ticket. People bid for the item by placing one of the pre-purchased tickets in the container or basket next to the item. At the end of the auction, each prize is awarded to the person whose ticket is drawn from the container. Raffles 50/50 This is the easiest and most popular way to get your fund raising started. Choose a raffle ticket price. Decide, for example, that each ticket will cost $1. Then 50% or 50 cents of each dollar is awarded to the winning ticket holder, and the other 50 cents goes to Make-A-Wish.

Holiday Ideas Holiday Gift Wrap Wrap holiday presents for fellow employees this is great for those last minute shoppers. Holiday Candy Sales Before holidays such as Valentine s Day, Easter or Halloween, contact a candy company and arrange to purchase candy from them. Take orders from your friend and family and sell the candy at a profit. Halloween Party Employees can decorate a room with fake cobwebs, bats and pumpkins. Serve cupcakes or cider and doughnuts. Everyone pays admission. Include a costume contest. Establish a payroll deduction program Organizations can make Make-A-Wish their charity of choice by engaging their employees to help grant magical wishes through payroll deductions. Employee payroll deduction offers the convenience of automatic payroll deductions while enabling your employees to have an impact in your community. Benefits of a Payroll Deduction: Employees can spread their charitable donation payments over a year, which gives a cash flow advantage. T-4 receipting is expedient and ensures employees will not lose a receipt or forget a charitable deduction. Payroll deduction encourages generous charitable giving, creating a greater corporate profile and a stronger community. It demonstrates employer commitment to the community.

Make a matching gift Consider a corporate matching gift program, whereby your company will match an employee s personal donation to Make-A-Wish. Why consider a matching gift program: Employees feel supported in their personal philanthropic goals, boosting morale in the workplace; Employers effectively double the value of their employee giving while doubling the impact of the gift; Make-A-Wish is able to support twice as many wish granting activities in the community. Donations can be matched up to a certain amount per year per employee, be connected to a specific campaign or fundraising event, or they can be unlimited. Corporate Giving Instead of sending a promotional or holiday gift to each of your customers, send a donation to Make-A- Wish in the name of that special person. A minimum of $10 per gift is suggested. We will send a letter to your customers telling them of your generosity.
