Its centralized repository for all incident tickets, requests, and work orders allows for a unified approach to managing your IT tasks, complete with powerful features like ticket prioritization, automatic routing, and escalations. Hardware and Software Assets Alloy Navigator Express helps you manage the full lifecycle of your computers, hardware equipment and software licenses. From the asset s initial purchase to its retirement, Alloy Navigator Express helps maintain purchase orders, warranties, maintenance contracts, and provides a clear view on configuration information and financials. Network Inventory Alloy Navigator Express includes our powerful Network Inventory tool. Its versatile audit methods and strategies allow you to effortlessly gather an accurate and in-depth inventory of your entire network that includes your company's computers, network equipment & installed software. Using the powerful On-Demand Audit, you can remotely audit Windows, Linux and Mac workstations, servers and network devices for up to the minute configuration details. The abilities to quickly visualize your live data, drill down, and take an immediate action make Smart Views far superior to regular reporting. Integrated Reporting Alloy Navigator Express is integrated with Microsoft Reporting Services, to deliver a rich set of standard reports and charts for general use. The open architecture of the Alloy Navigator Express database enables you to customize any standard report, or create new reports from scratch. Administrative Alerts Alloy Navigator Express automatically alerts appropriate personnel when important hardware or software related events take place. Now you can be notified when computers start running out of disk space, or when users install unauthorized software. Self Service Portal The Self Service Web Portal in Alloy Navigator Express provides your customers with 24x7 access to your help desk and knowledge base from the convenience of their web browsers. They can submit issues and requests, monitor progress of their tickets, and communicate with your support team effectively. Knowledge Base integration helps your customers find answers to frequently asked questions, or search for solutions to common problems, all resulting in time savings and reduced support costs. Mobile Portal The Mobile Portal enables IT personnel to stay connected to the Service Support module anywhere, anytime. The Mobile Portal supports the majority of modern devices and mobile operating systems, including Windows Phone, ios, and Android. The application automatically adapts for each device, allowing you to get the best look everywhere, on your mobile phones and tablet computers. -to-Ticket Automation Save time and eliminate tedious manual tasks with the Mail Connector - an automated tool in Alloy Navigator Express which monitors electronic mailboxes and converts incoming and file attachments into help desk tickets.
3 New in version 7 New Features Web Portal for Technicians Nowadays IT personnel are on the move and their software has to move with them. In addition to our Mobile Portal, technicians now can use a fullyfeatured Web Portal. The Web Portal can be accessed from any computer, whether your technicians work at a customer s site, from home, or other remote locations, without having to install client software. Equipment Reservations Alloy Navigator Express 7 streamlines the process of loaning out IT equipment for temporary use. The added reservation queue facilitates the allocation and smooth handling of high-demand items. Now users can see the availability of equipment and reserve it right from the Self Service Portal. Availability Calendars Personal work calendars for technicians allow your staff to update their schedules and availability thus enabling you to plan and distribute tasks more efficiently and accurately. Alloy Navigator Express 7 introduces a special Technician Availability Calendar which displays a combined view of your technicians personal calendars with their vacations, sick days, and other personal events. This further helps your managers to analyze the availability of their teams. Consumables In Alloy Navigator Express 7 you can track not only computers and equipment, but also consumable materials and supplies, such as spare parts, printer ink, toner, keyboards, mouse devices, batteries, etc. This helps you be sure that the right amount of supplies is always in stock. You can even set up alerts to notify the appropriate staff when supplies must be reordered. Snippets Save time and avoid typing in the same standard replies, troubleshooting recipes, or signatures. Build your own library of text fragments and reuse them when you update tickets, write knowledge base article, or communicate with others. Password Reset Tool Alloy Navigator Express 7 adds a Windows Password Reset utility to its remote/network management toolkit. Now your technicians can resolve one of the most common Help Desk issues with just a single click! Quick Filter Searching for records in data grids is now faster and easier. Just press CTRL+F to activate the quick filter box and start typing in the search text. Records in the grid will be filtered dynamically as you type.
4 Printer Cartridge Information Now you can easily see the level of ink or toner in your printers and receive notifications when the toner is running low. This helps you avoid costly downtime by having printer cartridges replaced in time. Mixed Licensing Model The new flexible and cost-effective licensing model gives you the freedom to combine any number of named or concurrent users in a single deployment, based on your access scenarios, usage needs, and budget. In this model, concurrent licensing determines how many technicians are expected to log in at any given time, while named licensing reserves the ability for assigned managers to retain access even when the system is at the maximum concurrent users capacity. Customizable Dashboard Alloy Navigator Express offers a number of new reusable widgets and layouts for visualizing and organizing information on the dashboard. Each technician can customize their personal dashboard to have all important information at their fingertips. Feature Enhancements Enhanced Self-Service Portal The Self-Service Portal in version 7 has been completely redesigned. It features a new look-andfeel and is capable of adapting to high-resolution displays as well as tablet devices. Users can reserve equipment for special events or temporary use. When submitting tickets, users can relate incidents to the computers or other equipment that they own. Scheduled Reports Save time and avoid tedious manual processing by automating the distribution of reports and charts. Now Alloy Navigator Express can generate any report according to a schedule and broadcast reports by to designated recipients. Technology Updates Microsoft Report Builder Support All reports in Alloy Navigator Express 7 are designed in the Microsoft Report Definition Language. These reports leverage the SQL Server Reporting Services - a reporting engine included in all recent editions of Microsoft SQL Server. Use the reports out of box, customize them in Microsoft Report Builder, or create your own from scratch. Older reports that were designed in the Crystal Reports format are supported as well. Microsoft Exchange Integration In addition to MAPI, Alloy Navigator Express 7 supports Exchange Web Services (EWS), which is an enhanced method of integration for newer versions of Microsoft Exchange, including Exchange 2007 SP1, Exchange 2010, Exchange 2013, and Exchange Online (part of the Office 365 suite). Microsoft Outlook Integration Technicians calendars in Alloy Navigator Express 7 display various planned tasks, along with appointments, meetings and events from their Microsoft Outlook Calendar; providing a single view of their schedule.
5 More Secure Linux and Mac Audit Using SSH Private Key Now you can audit Linux and Mac computers without worrying about using administrative credentials. The new version enables you to use the public key authentication mechanism to access computers over SSH without a password. Microsoft Phone Support The Mobile Portal now supports Windows Phone 8 with Internet Explorer 10 or 11. There is more!
