ITINERARY COSTA DEL SOL & LISBON Day 1: USA-Lisbon Depart the US on your overnight flight from Chicago to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Relax and enjoy dinner, movie, and breakfast onboard. Day 2: Arrive in Lisbon Morning arrival is met by our local representatives who will arrange transfer from the airport to the hotel in Lisbon. Day at leisure to relax and begin exploring the Portuguese capital. Overnight at 4-star centrally located hotel Superior 4-star centrally located Mundial Hotel - Lisbon The Mundial Hotel is located in the heart of Lisbon, close to Praca do Rossio and St. George's Castle, the tram network, railway station, and a choice of metro stations. The 373 air-conditioned rooms have private bathroom, hairdryer, minibar, safe, and satellite TV. Facilities include bar, coffee shop, and a fine rooftop restaurant with superb food & terrace with panoramic views of the city. Day 3: Sightseeing City Tour of Lisbon After a hearty buffet breakfast at your hotel, departure to visit the beautiful city of Lisbon: the quaint Alfama, the former Moorish quarters with its narrow and

3 twisting streets, cobblestone alleys, and small whitewashed houses. We will drive to the historical Belem district, where you will see the Tower of Belem, Monument to the Discoverers, and the unique Manueline architecture of the Jeronimos Monastery. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at your centrally located hotel in Lisbon. Day 4: Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Fatima, Óbidos, Alcobaça, Nazaré, and Batalha including lunch. Fatima After breakfast at your hotel, you will be met by the tour escort to begin your 5 nights tour of Northern Portugal. By a landscape rich in windmills and fruit trees we arrive to Óbidos, surrounded by medieval walls where we can admire the harmony of its architecture, and the diversity of their handicrafts. Visit Alcobaça and the first and largest gothic church in Portugal holding the tombs of Dom Pedro and Inês de Castro, known by their love story. We will stop in Nazaré, a

4 typical fishing village and seaside resort with its traditions and legends. After lunch in this Portuguese fishing village, we continue to Batalha to visit the Monastery of Santa Maria de Victoria, a masterpiece of the gothic in Portugal where we can find the tomb of Henry the Navigator, the promoter of the maritime discoveries. After the visits, we arrive in Fatima, the famous Marian Shrine and center of the Catholic faith and world pilgrimage. Possibility to participate in a candlelight procession. Early evening return to Lisbon. Overnight at your centrally located hotel Day 5: Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Sintra Deluxe visiting Pena Palace, the village of Sintra, the Royal Palace, Colares, Cabo da Roca, Guincho, Boca do Inferno, Cascais, and Estoril, including lunch. After breakfast, come and discover with us the magnificent Sintra village where the Royal Family used to live during the summers and taste the local traditional pastry in this charming region. Visit the Royal Palace and leave for the town of Colares on tramway. Later admire Cabo de Roca, Europe s westernmost point, and the incredible Boca do Inferno. We later visit the Cosmopolitan Cascais, and the Casino Estoril gardens. Lunch is included. End the day along the coast, passing by Cascais & Estoril. Early evening return to Lisbon. Overnight at your centrally located hotel. Day 6: Lisbon- Costa del Sol, Spain: After breakfast at you hotel in Lisbon, your tour escort will meet you to take you to Spain by private motor coach. Afternoon arrival in Costa del Sol and check into your hotel. Rest of day at leisure to begin acquainting yourself with the

5 beautiful area. Dinner with wine and overnight at your 4-star air-conditioned beachfront hotel. Superior 4 Star Amaragua Hotel The 4 star Amaragua Hotel is located right on the beach in Torremolinos, Costa del Sol, Spain overlooking the Mediterranean. Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated and include full bath and large private balconies with sea view. Facilities include an indoor heated pool, restaurant, lounge with piano music in the evenings, extensive outdoor gardens, sauna, and a steam room and spa (additional fees apply for spa services). There is a promenade between the hotel and the beach, which is perfect for strolling and provides access to nearby shops and restaurants. Just fifteen minutes away, walking on the promenade, you will find the Benalmádena Marina, famous for its extensive dinning and shopping options. A few steps away is the quaint fishing village of La Carihuela, dotted with stores and fresh local seafood restaurants. The nearby town center of Torremolinos is just ten minutes away by bus featuring a lively shopping district, Calle San Miguel, with great buys such as shoes, handmade leather goods, linens, and Lladró figurines. Day 7: Costa del Sol- Full Day Sightseeing to of SEVILLE

6 After breakfast at your hotel, early drive along The beautiful Andalusian countryside will be the setting for a great view of typical towns such as Antequera, Estepa, Osuna and, finally, Seville. The fourth largest in Spain, this is a city humming with life and prosperity, holding magnificent buildings and monuments, and considered the most popular and attractive in the whole country. Our visit will start with the Alcazar, which served both as Palace and Fort, and will continue in the Cathedral, a unique beauty all its own combining old Arabic and Christian architecture. The cathedral was built on top of a former mosque and is now the third largest in the world. Adjoining it, the Giralda tower stands 322 feet high. We continue our visit to the Barrio de Santa Cruz, the old Jewish quarter where we will ramble along the narrows streets with it small bars and restaurants. Not to be missed is the beautiful Maria Luisa Park with its sunken gardens, the decorative fountains, and the lovely "azulejos"(tiles) in the Plaza de España, a semi-circular square with a great building around it. We finish our trip to Seville with a drive over the Isla de la Cartuja area, where the Universal Exposition took place in Accommodations and buffet breakfast and dinner at your hotel (B, D) Day 8: Costa del Sol at leisure Breakfast at your hotel. Dayat leisure to explore or relax. Tonight you may wish to try dining out at any of our selected local dine-around restaurants within walking distance from your hotel. Day 9: Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Ronda

7 Breakfast at your hotel. Depart for a full day Ronda tour. Spanning more than four centuries of Spanish architecture, this quaint town is sure to transport you back in time. One look at the famous El Tajo and the impressive sheer drop of the mountain cliffs illustrates its origins as a military stronghold. While in Ronda, marvel at its architectural variety, including the walled Old Town, a residential palace of nobility, the Cathedral, the bullring - the oldest existing in Spain - and the Bullfight Museum. Free time for lunch on your own and shopping prior to returning to your hotel. Tonight you may wish to try dining out at any of our selected local dine-around restaurants within walking distance from your hotel. Day 10: Full Day Sightseeing Tour of Gibraltar Breakfast at your hotel. A drive along the southern Costa del Sol will take us to La Linea de la Concepción, the border town with Gibraltar. We will cross the border and enter Gibraltar crossing the runway of the airport where people transfer to small vans for a tour around the Rock. This tour takes us to the highest point with fantastic panoramic views of the Bay of Algeciras, the Strait of

8 Gibraltar, and the African coastline. We also visit the Saint Michael s caves with spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Once taking the road down again, we will see the Barbarian apes that still live in Gibraltar. Free time for tax-free shopping or for a snack at the various English or Spanish-type pubs and restaurants. Return to Torremolino0s for dinner with wine and overnight. Day 11: Full Day Sightseeing tour of Nerja & Frigiliana Breakfast at your hotel. Today we drive along the eastern coast of Malaga province to Frigiliana in the "Lower Axarquia" Region, where history traces back through Moorish, Roman, Greek, and Phoenician civilizations to the Bronze Age. Often called the most picturesque town in Andalucia, Frigiliana shows the indelible mark of ancient culture in its Moorish Mudejar neighborhood with its outstanding mosaic paved streets, immaculate white houses, and the cornucopia of colors provided by abundant flowers. Free time is allowed to stroll in this quaint town and perhaps taste its delicious locally made sweet wine. The tour continues on to the site of the magnificent underground prehistoric Caves of Nerja. Free time is provided for lunch (not included) and to visit this cave, often called Nature s Baroque Cathedral. Admission fee to the cave is included.

9 Afterwards, we drive to the old section of Nerja and then walk to the nearby Balcony of Europe, set 100 feet above the sea and renowned for its spectacular views. Tonight we say farewell with a dinner at your hotel including wine, coffee, and a special dessert.
