2 Professional Development PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT APICS CPIM Program Certificate Upon completion of this Association of Operations Management (APICS) Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) program, participants can also earn a non-credit Certificate in Production Management from Penn State. This course will be offered in conjunction with the Northeastern Pennsylvania APICS Chapter. HUMAN RESOURCES SHRM (Society for Human Resources) Learning System SHRM has established the new certification standard for the HR Profession! Earning your SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP ) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP ) credential establishes you as a recognized expert in the HR field. Test vouchers and other materials are not included. 2nd Module Master Planning of Resources will start in May, Modules 3-5 will be completed in Fall and Spring APICS CSCP LEARNING SYSTEM "Certified Supply Chain Professional" To earn the APICS CSCP designation, candidates must meet eligibility requirements and pass the APICS CSCP exam. This is an instructor led comprehensive professional development and exam preparation program based on the current APICS CSCP Exam Content Manual. This comprehensive training program combines print materials with interactive Web-based study tools to provide a customized learning experience. The learning system is divided into three modules: Fundamentals of Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Strategy, Design and Compliance Implementation and Operations Thurs., March 12 June 11, 2015 (No class on June 4) 4:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. Fee: $3,600 per module Includes all course materials and exam. Please inquire about grant funding for certain industry types. This preparation program covers four knowledge domains: People, Organization, Workplace and Strategy as well as eight behavioral competencies: Leadership & Navigation, Ethical Practice, Business Acumen, Relationship Management, Consultation, Critical Evaluation, Global & Cultural Effectiveness, and Communication. This 36 hour Learning System features relevant HR content and advanced tools that streamline study time, accelerate learning and build confidence for passing the SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP exam. The course investment includes all course materials but does not cover registration for the SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exams. 3 REAL ESTATE Pennsylvania Real Estate Prelicensing Education Courses Real Estate Fundamentals (3.0 CEUs) This course will introduce you to the language, principles, and laws that govern the language of real estate in Pennsylvania. This course and the Real Estate Practice course have been approved by the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission and can be applied toward the educational requirements for the salesperson s license examination. Mon., March 2 May 4, 2015 Fee: $189 Real Estate Practice (3.0 CEUs) This course is an introduction to all facets of the real estate business, including a survey of areas of specialization, with emphasis on the role of a real estate agent in residential brokerage. The course includes an examination of a real estate transaction, designed to provide you with a working knowledge of the forms and documents used along with related mathematics. Wed., March 4 May 6, 2015 Fee: $189 AUTOCAD AutoCad Fundamentals Certificate The College of Engineering AutoCAD Fundamental Certificate Program consists of two 24-hour AutoCAD courses with hands-on training that can provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for proficiency in using AutoCAD. The requirements for the certificate include the successful completion of both courses, including a final project given during the last session of each course. The courses were designed for persons desiring formal training in computer aided design, architects, craftspeople, engineers and technicians. Participants enrolling in AutoCAD courses should have working knowledge of the Windows operating system and keyboarding skills. Module 1: Mon., January 12 March 2, 2015 Fee: $545 per module Module 2: Mon., March 16 May 4, 2015 Fee: $545 per module NEW FOR SPRING 2015 ASQ Certified Quality Technician Program Certification from ASQ is considered a mark of quality excellence in many industries. It helps you advance your career, and boosts your organization s bottom line through your mastery of quality skills. Becoming certified as a Quality Technician confirms your commitment to quality and the positive impact it will have on your organization. The Certified Quality Technician,(CQT), is a paraprofessional who analyzes and solves quality problems, prepares inspection plans and instructions, selects sampling plan applications, prepares procedures, performs audits, analyzes quality costs and a variety of other functions in manufacturing, healthcare, and other professional environments. This 32-hour test prep program is to prepare participants to take the ASQ (American Society for Quality) Technician exam. Certified Quality Technician is a high demand field in today s economy. 4 Career Credit Programs SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT Supply Chain Management Certificate This certificate is perfect for anyone who is currently working in or would like to enter one of the fastest growing career fields in Pennsylvania. This accelerated 12-credit certificate program allows you to gain your certificate in less then one year's time. It's all ONLINE so you can take classes around your schedule. There are some prerequisites so please contact us for more information. INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOLOGY Introduction to Psychology Certificate - ONLINE This certificate program will provide students with a general education in Psychology as well as more specific areas of Developmental and Applied and Clinical Psychology. Students will be given an introduction to general principles of human behavior; linguistic, intellectual, emotional, and social development from infancy to maturity; and an overview of assessment, causes, and treatments of psychological disorders. The Supply Chain Management Certificate consists of four courses: Intro to Supply Chain Mgmt., SCM 301, Transport Systems, SCM 320, Warehouse and Terminal Mgmt., SCM 416 and Purchasing and Materials Mgmt., SCM 460. These four courses give participants a wide overview of Supply Chain Functions in Manufacturing and Warehousing. This certificate is perfect for anyone with a degree in business, accounting, IT or any other baccalaureate program who wants to learn more about Supply Chains. Intro to Supply Chain Mgmt., SCM 301 Mon., January 12 March 6, 2015 Transport Systems, SCM 320 Mon., March 16 April 30, 2015 SCM 460 and SCM 416 Coming May-August, 2015 FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING Financial Accounting Certificate - ONLINE This six-credit certificate program is perfect for those individuals with exposure and experience in bookkeeping, accounts receivable/payable and other accounting practices with no prior college education. The program enhances the participant s knowledge in the accounting areas noted below and makes them a more well-rounded and informed employee. The two courses, Fundamentals of Accounting I and II, cover the following material: basic concepts, principles, and practices for the recording, summarizing, and interpreting of accounting data; accounting for partnerships, corporations, cash flows, certain liabilities and assets, and the analysis of financial statements; and an introduction to electronic accounting tools. Fundamentals of Accounting I, ACCTG 151 January 20 March 2, 2015 Fundamentals of Accounting II, ACCTG 152 March 16 April 27, 2015 The Introduction to Psychology certificate program is perfect for someone that is interested in a solid overview of Psychology or is considering a degree in this field. Courses include: Introductory Psychology, Developmental Psychology, and Abnormal Psychology. This nine-credit (three-course) certificate requires no prior college education. Introductory Psychology, PSYCH 100 January 12 May 8, 2015 (this course is available for high school dual enrollment) INDIVIDUAL COURSES ONLINE Organizational Communication CAS 352: Learn to understand and evaluate various theoretical frameworks for making sense of organizational communication. Recognize and analyze the ways in which organizational roles and relationships affect communication behaviors and processes. Evaluate the ways in which ethics and values influence organizational communication. This course requires no prior college education. January 12 May 8, 2015 Introduction to Human Development and Family Studies HD FS 129: Students will be introduced to the biological, emotional, cognitive, psychosocial, as well as the social, cultural and historical factors that influence growth and development across infancy, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and advanced adulthood. Attention is given to the central role of families and how families and family behavior are influenced by their communities, the larger culture, and other social and economic forces, (this course is available for high school dual enrollment).
